Luke Shaw Makes Strong Statement Ahead Of Manchester United’s Clash Against Chelsea In The FA Cup

Manchester United’s left-back Luke Shaw has admitted that his team’s confidence has been slightly dented by the 2-0 loss to Ligue 1 champs Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their round of 16 tie in the Champions League at Old Trafford. It was Solskjaer’s first loss as a manager with the Red Devils, since he took over as the interim boss from Jose Mourinho last year.

It saw a great run of form end for the Premier League giants, who had been unbeaten in all competitions under the Norwegian manager. As the team prepared for the clash against Chelsea in the FA Cup, the defensive superstar was all pumped up. In his recent interview, he stated, “Obviously, we have been winning and winning really well. We have had a couple of tough away games which we have won and now we’ll see how we adapt to a loss as we have not had one in a while. We will see how we go into the next game and we want to win that one.”

“It is the most confident I have felt within the group in a long while, especially before the PSG game, as I felt so confident in the team. What we have been doing is very positive with the mentality going into that tie but it was not our day.”

“But we are all very confident and we take that into training every day. The results have been showing that. Look, we ca not take one loss as a massive dent to us. It is just a learning curve and we go again.”

“These are the games you want to play. You have got to beat the best teams in the competition to win it and it is better to do it now, and get them out of the way. We know what we need to do against Chelsea as we had the game there earlier in the season and I felt we played really well and were unlucky not to get the win. We will remember the positives from that game and take it into Monday.”

”They have been going through a rough patch and will be looking to put things right against us. It is such a big game for them to do that but we are the same. I do not think anything else other than it is a very hard match, a tough game to have, but we are ready for it.“

Shaw has been picked in the starting eleven, which is missing the likes of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard. On the other hand, David de Gea starts on the bench, along with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Bailly and co. It will be a tough game, though the Manchester based side will surely want to get back to winning ways, as the England international has suggested.
