2) Danny Drinkwater
Danny Drinkwater was part of Leicester City’s historic Premier League winning squad in 2015. In that season, he paired with N’Golo Kanté in the midfield and registered some brilliant performances. He was often overlooked due to the heroic performances of Leicester City trio Jamie Vardy-Riyad Mahrez-N’Golo Kanté.
His attributes earned him a move to Chelsea under Antonio Conte. He only got a few chances in his first season at Chelsea and failed miserably to take any one of those.
He is yet to make an appearance for Chelsea this season. Maurizio Sarri declared it beforehand that he must improve to stay at the club.
It is pretty clear that he is not in Maurizio Sarri’s plans and on his way out of the club. He has been included in the Italian’s Europea League squad, though it is still not certain whether he will be played or not.
Honestly, he was never somebody whom Chelsea needed. Chelsea, as always, did not put their faith in the young players and now are trying their best to get rid of him.
3) Tiemoue Bakayoko
His move to Chelsea made him the club’s second most expensive signing at that time. He was expected to replace Nemanja Matic but failed to impress in his first season. His defensive errors and laziness on the pitch were criticized by fans and various pundits.
He signed for AC Milan on a season-long loan before the start of this season. His career in Italy did not get off to a good start, and he was labelled ‘confused’, ‘a disaster’, and ‘messy’ after some poor performances. However, his form improved dramatically late in 2018.
He soon became a regular under Gennaro Gattuso and right now, he is probably the best player Milan have.
He has gained his confidence back in Italy and is looking to extend his stay. “Staying at Milan is my dream, the only thought in my mind…” he said.
Maurizio Sarri has no intention at all to keep him as his system does not require players like him. There is an option to make his loan move permanent for €35 million and AC Milan will surely play that card to land him permanently at the end of this season.
