Hazard Reacts To Real Madrid Move, Is This His Final Decision?

Hazard

According to the latest reports, Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard is not interested in joining La Liga giants Real Madrid. The Blues faithful will breathe a heavy sigh of relief now as Hazard has reportedly told his teammate Willian that he is not saying anything about a move to the Santiago Bernabeu and that he is focused on playing at Chelsea.

Ever since Maurizio Sarri took charge of Chelsea football club back in the summer of 2018, he has done quite an admirable job by replacing fellow Italian compatriot Antonio Conte. The ex-Napoli master tactician has received plenty of praise and plaudits by fans and pundits all across the globe for bringing in a beautiful and effective football into the English Premier League. Sarri took Chelsea to the finals of the League Cup but eventually lost out to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on a penalty shootout.  However, a poor run of form in the Premier League caused Chelsea to slip outside of the top four and it almost cost Sarri his job.

The Blues currently sit in sixth place on the table and are still hunting a Champions League berth. The West London club is in a difficult situation with star winger Eden Hazard as the Belgian’s contract expires in the summer of 2020. But with interest from European heavyweights always around, Chelsea need to do all they can to keep hold of the 28-year-old. Hazard is still Chelsea’s main-man as he has netted 16 goals this season and also added 11 assists to his name.  There is also no secret that Real Madrid is keen on signing the talented winger in order to revive the club and bring back some of the glory days after Cristiano Ronaldo departed the Spanish capital in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid also re-hired Zinedine Zidane as manager and the Frenchman has showered praise on Hazard before and the duo has spoken about potentially working together one day. Even Hazard stated earlier that it would be his ‘dream’ to play for the Los Blancos and this is something that could worry fans at Stamford Bridge. However, Willian has given Chelsea fans delight as the star winger has revealed that his teammate is still focused on playing at Chelsea.

Willian was speaking to talkSport when the attacker spoke about Hazard, “No doubt, he is focused here. He has never said something about Real Madrid or stuff like this. He just wants to continue to play for Chelsea.”

Willian went on to explain that he would hope that Hazard stays at Chelsea but added that anything can happen in football. We all know how true that is, as we have seen it happen over the years already with some top players.

Hazard was on the bench for the tie against Dynamo Kyiv, which his team won 5-0 in the second leg away from home. It was a one sided tie and Maurizio Sarri decided to give him the rest that he deserves and he should be back once again for the Premier League fixture at the weekend against Everton.
