Liverpool Will Battle Manchester United For Fallen Real Madrid Star

According to the latest reports, Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool are looking to sign Real Madrid outcast Isco Alarcon in the summer transfer window. The Spanish international has not been able to get regular football under new Madrid boss Santiago Solari and a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu looks imminent in the summer.

Manchester United seemed to have turned fortunes ever since hiring former club striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as temporary manager of the club until the end of the season. The Norwegian has worked his magic ever since taking over from Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho, who was dismissed from the Red half of Manchester back in December. The ‘Special one’ instilled a very dull, boring and ineffective at Old Trafford and it was something that the fans were not used to watching from their team.

Solskjaer though has transformed the United side and brought smiles back to Old Trafford having lost just one of his first 16 games across all competitions being in charge of the club since December. Although the 46-year-old was brought in to stabilize the sinking ship it now looks almost certain that Solskjaer will be given the job permanently.  This means that Solskjaer will be looking to lure in some top players to build on Manchester United’s current squad.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is currently sitting 2nd in the Premier League and let the lead slip against Manchester City with nine games remaining in the campaign. However, one main cause of concern over the last few weeks for the Reds has been the attacking third which is lacking some firepower. With a pragmatic midfield, Klopp really requires someone who can play a high quality through ball to his forward players to unlock tight defenses.

Real Madrid is currently struggling in the La Liga and the Spanish title looks to be slipping away with each passing week and one player who is astonishingly not able to get regular football is Spanish midfielder, Isco Alarcon. The 26-year-old midfield maestro has managed to make only five starts in the La Liga this whole season mostly making appearances off the bench. Isco’s relationship with manager Solari looks to be in jeopardy and the former Malaga star looks certain to leave the Spanish capital in the summer if anyone should swoop in, and there is no shortage of takers for the Champions League winner.

Isco joined Real Madrid back in 2013 and has helped the Los Blancos to four Champions League titles, one La Liga and one Copa Del Rey as well. His contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer of 2022 but he may not be at Madrid to see it out.

Liverpool and Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Isco, monitoring the Spaniard’s situation as the top English sides would love to have a player like Isco in their ranks to call upon. Isco is still a top quality player but needs constant football to get back to his best and Liverpool or Manchester United could offer him that opportunity in the Premier League.
