Real Madrid And Manchester United Could Possibly Swap These Two Players, Deal On The Cards?

According to the latest reports, La Liga giants Real Madrid and Premier League outfit Manchester United could swap Gareth Bale with Paul Pogba in the upcoming summer transfer window. The two players are reportedly keen on moving away from their respective clubs and interest from each other is always speculation.

Manchester United fans will be extremely happy with the way their team has been performing off late under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since he took over in December. The Norwegian was the successor to Jose Mourinho, who had initially instilled a very defensive philosophy into the club which most of the United faithful were not used to seeing on a regular basis. Without positive results and dire football with no conviction, it was only a matter of time before Mourinho got the sack from Old Trafford. Fierce rivals Liverpool delivered the final blow for the 56-year old after a 3-1 humiliation at Anfield and Mourinho was sacked just days later.

United then hired a former face in the form of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to bring stability at the club at least until the end of the season but the 46-year-old has exceeded expectations. The players look happier as Solskjaer has given them the freedom to express themselves and also play attacking football. One player who has turned things around in the last few months has been World Cup winner Paul Pogba. The French midfielder looks at his best at the moment following Mourinho’s departure and is performing at the highest level for the club.

However, this form has attracted interest from European heavyweights Real Madrid as they are struggling this season. The Los Blancos lost Cristiano Ronaldo last summer and have failed to replace the 34-year-old Portuguese talisman. Since then, the Spanish giants are looking for an iconic figure that could bring some entourage to the club and Pogba has been one of their main targets.  Pogba also fueled speculation of a move to the Spanish capital when he admitted that a move to the Santiago Bernabeu is ‘everyone’s dream’ but he also insisted that he is happy at Manchester United.

One player who was supposed to fill in the boots for Ronaldo was Welsh superstar Gareth Bale but the 29-year-old has struggled to find form as his injuries have caused him major setbacks. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is a big fan of the former Tottenham Hotspur winger but the fans are unhappy with Bale and he could be at the exit door in the summer. A potential move back to the Premier League is on the cards for Bale as there are plenty of top European suitors that are looking for his signature.

Bale helped Real Madrid win four Champions League titles in five seasons at the Spanish capital since his move from White Hart Lane but United are still uncertain if they want to take a risk with the attacker due to his injury woes.  More so, with the 26-year-old Pogba playing at the best of his ability, United will want to keep him at the club for longer.
