Shocking: Liverpool’s Keeper All Set To Take Action Against Club

According to the latest reports, Besiktas’ on loan keeper from Liverpool Loris Karius could take legal action against the Turkish club for not paying his wages for over four months. The German goalkeeper has not had a completely positive time during his stint at the Super Lig and his nightmare is about to get worse.

Liverpool is currently enjoying a great run in the Premier League as they are challenging leaders Manchester City for the title. There is only one point that separates the two sides at the moment and it could be a battle that goes into the last day of the title race which decides who will be crowned champions of England with eight games remaining. But despite such a fantastic season, the Reds suffered heartbreak in last season’s Champions League final when they lost 3-1 to Real Madrid.

Liverpool had a chance to win silverware for the first time under Jurgen Klopp’s reign but was denied mainly due to the horrendous errors of Loris Karius. The shot-stopper was at fault for two goals and his blunders forced Liverpool to get a new man between the sticks for the next season.  Liverpool broke the bank to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker from AS Roma in the summer transfer window and the 26-year-old has been immense for the Reds ever since arriving at Anfield. However, Liverpool decided to loan out Karius to Turkish club Super Lig, but the 25-year-old is facing another battle at the moment regarding his pay.

Reports have claimed that Karius has now taken legal action against his on-loan club Besiktas who have not paid him his wages in over four months now. German news outlet BILD has claimed that the amount that Besiktas owe Karius has crossed over €1 million and he could now sue the club for not paying his dues. The initial deal that Liverpool signed with Besiktas saw the Turkish giants pay the English club £2.25 million with an obligatory fee of £7.25m lined up midway through his two-year spell if certain performance-based criteria’s were met.

Karius has remained Besiktas’ first choice goalkeeper but may miss out on becoming their permanent first choice keeper if his demands are not met. Besiktas manager Senol Gunes has now publicly criticized the performances of Karius questioning his enthusiasm after a 3-2 win over Konyaspor on Sunday, “Karius has gone a bit stagnant, something is wrong with his electricity, motivation, enthusiasm for the game. It has been like that since the beginning. He does not really feel a part of the team. It is something we have not been able to work out and, of course, I am partly to blame for this. Something is wrong, he has also been unlucky. [He] is talented but it has not worked out and we have a problem. Let me put it this way if I still had Tolga [Zengin] available I would play him.”

Besiktas are already struggling in third place on the Super Lig table and could face further points deduction and elimination from the Europa League if Karius decides to take legal action against the club.
