According to the latest reports, Premier League club Arsenal will not purchase on loan midfielder Denis Suarez at the end of the season despite having the option to keep hold of the player. The Spaniard has reportedly failed to impress since his arrival back in January and now looks set to rejoin Barcelona at the end of the season.
Ever since Unai Emery took charge of the Arsenal football club back in the summer of 2018 he has done quite a respectable job in all sense. The Spanish boss took over from legendary French manager Arsene Wenger, who spent 22 long years at the helm at Arsenal. The 69-year-old Wenger revolutionized football in England for Arsenal with his philosophy and brought many honours to the club. Wenger got Arsenal competing once again and they became a dominant force in England’s top flight.
Towards the latter stages of his career, a new generation of manager’s had figured out a way to outwit and outsmart Wenger’s tactics. But the Frenchman stayed on as manager of Arsenal and wasn’t able to bring about a change in football to adapt to the next level. He finally departed from the north London club last summer and Unai Emery was his successor.
Spanish boss Unai Emery has brought in a breath of fresh air since his appointment in the summer as he has taken Arsenal to fourth place in the Premier League table, just one point behind local fierce neighbours Tottenham Hotspur in 3rd place. Emery took Arsenal on a stellar 22 game unbeaten streak this season across all competitions as he implemented his authority and style of football into the club.
He decided on club mainstays Jack Wilshere last summer and Welshman Aaron Ramsey will also leave the Emirates in the upcoming transfer window as Emery stated that the duo will not be part of his plans for the future. Almost all of Emery’s summer signings have made a positive impact on the club and he has also guided themselves to the quarterfinals of the Europa League, where Arsenal will face a crunch two-legged tie against Serie A club Napoli.
Arsenal were on somewhat of a low budget in the winter transfer window after spending on a few players in the summer and could only sign players on a loan deal during January. The only arrival in north London was of Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez, who was a much-anticipated signing as he previously worked with Emery in the past.

Ever since Suarez completed his loan move, he has failed to impress the fans as well as his manager, coming off the bench on six occasions and playing a total of 95 minutes to date. It was Arsenal’s option to make Suarez a permanent signing in the summer transfer window if they paid Barcelona a transfer sum of £18 million but the English outfit will reportedly opt against the permanent signing of Suarez. In fact, the 25-year-old midfielder may not even complete his year-long loan as Arsenal could cut that short and send him back to the Camp Nou in the summer to look at another batch of midfielders instead.
