Game Of Thrones At Liverpool, Klopp: “I Am Jealous Of This Liverpool Star”

Mohamed Salah has been sending Liverpool fans into meltdown for the past two seasons and it further continued when a photograph of the Egyptian forward and actress Emilia Clarke from the Time 100 gala went viral this week. Since arriving from Roma back in 2017, Salah has become a very crucial part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the team as they set their eyes on dominating the entire continent. The Egyptian forward again gave Liverpool fans something to talk about as he shared a picture from the Time 100 gala showing him and Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke enjoying their time together.

The mother of Dragons, aka Game of Thrones fame Daenerys Targaryen, took some time off fighting the White Walkers as she attended the Time 100’s gala where she happened to meet Salah, making Jurgen Klopp a bit jealous of his star player. The Liverpool star joined a host of other familiar faces such as Rami Malek, Taylor Swift and Jimmy Fallon at a gala in New York City as Time magazine celebrated the world’s most influential people.

The forward was chosen as one of six cover stars for the magazine’s annual issue. In his interview with the magazine, Salah discussed the importance of women’s equality and steps that must be taken to ensure it. The 26-year-old in his interview said: “We need to change the way we treat women in our culture. I support the woman more than I did before, because I feel like she deserves more than what they give her now, at the moment. That has to be, it’s not optional.”

Klopp: I’m a little jealous of Salah

Earlier this month the forward was included in the magazine’s list of the world’s most influential people. Fast forward a month, he attended the TIME 100 Gala in New York City on Tuesday night as his manager lauded him for being a role model for younger generations. Klopp also joked that he was a little jealous of his star player as he also wished to meet the mother of dragons aka Emilia Clarke but couldn’t get an invite to the prestigious gala.

Speaking in an interview, Klopp said: “He [Salah] missed one session. Today he is in training and everything is fine again. I saw a few pictures and he looked brilliant in his tuxedo. Wow. He met a lot of famous people. Mrs. Targaryen, eh? She was there as well. If he’d have asked me maybe I would have joined him! It was very interesting and now he’s back, it’s all fine.”

Klopp further went onto to appreciate his star forward as he said: “I’m very proud, because people in football, we are obviously on television, in newspapers a lot, and most of the time we don’t say very smart things. But Mo is a very smart person and his role is very influential. He said a couple of really good things and inspired, hopefully, some people on one side to think about a few things, and on the other side, he got other people aware of him.”

Klopp further added: “In the world at the moment, it is very important that you have people like Mo. It should not be his first job, obviously, but it is important that he has an opinion and that he makes his opinion public. I was completely fine, we always say football is not the most important thing in the world, but when you can prove it you have to be there.”

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will now be back in action on Thursday when they host Huddersfield at Anfield as the battle for the Premier League title intensifies.
