Confirmed: The One Reason Why Paul Pogba Will Not Be Leaving Manchester United

According to the latest reports, Premier League side Manchester United are trying to keep hold of midfield ace Paul Pogba in the summer transfer window in order to lure other key players into the club. The Frenchman has been quite a talismanic figure over the past few seasons for the Red Devils but has also put in some shockingly bad performances which have questioned his consistency.

Manchester United have had quite a torrid season this term as they finished in sixth place in the Premier League table and will be playing in the Europa League next season. Jose Mourinho was initially in charge of Manchester United in the early half of the season but the 56-year-old Portuguese manager wasn’t really a fan favorite due to the defensive style of football that he implied into the team. With no results to back the performances with lack of conviction, the writing was on the wall for the ‘Special One’ and Mourinho was fired in December. United then turned to a familiar face in the form of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to handle the reigns at least until the end of the season to add some stability and stop the ship from sinking further.

At the start of his reign, Solskjaer had initially exceeded expectations with some outstanding results and attacking performances bringing a smile back on the faces of the United faithful. The Norwegian guided United to the quarterfinals of the Champions League in a dramatic manner after coming from behind against Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain. United were trailing 2-0 from the first leg but went on to win 3-1 at the Parc Des Princes to ensure qualification for the next stage. United also strung together a bunch of positive results in the Premier League which helped them get closer to achieving a top-four berth.

These impressive outings handed Solskjaer a three-year deal which would mean that he would be appointed as permanent manager of Manchester United. However, after signing the deal, results haven’t really gone United’s way as they were dumped out of the Champions League against Barcelona and they suffered humiliating defeats in the Premier League as well. On the final day of the season, United lost 2-0 to already relegated Cardiff City which indicated that the 46-year-old Solskjaer had a massive job on his hands in the summer.

One player who has been under heavy scrutiny over the past few weeks has been French midfielder Paul Pogba. The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid in the hunt to sign the midfielder. Although United are also in a dilemma whether they want to keep or get rid of Pogba, reports now claim that the Red Devils are planning on keeping him at the Theatre of Dreams because he has the opportunity to attract other big players at Old Trafford.

The World Cup-winning French midfielder scored 15 goals and notched up 10 assists across all competitions for Manchester United but his future at the club is in jeopardy.
