Deal Done: Fee Agreed For Chelsea Star, Real Madrid Complete Deal?

Real Madrid

According to the latest reports, La Liga giants Real Madrid have agreed on a transfer fee to sign Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Blues winger admitted that he will be leaving the club in the summer and the Los Blancos have made Hazard their number one target to join the Spanish club.

Real Madrid endured a torrid season this term as they finished in 3rd place on the La Liga table, 19 points behind fierce rivals and leaders Barcelona. The Los Blancos sacked two managers this season as the Catalonians also dumped the Madrid outfit out of the Copa Del Rey over two legs to add further embarrassment to the club. Real Madrid tasted success in the Champions League for the past three seasons but their dominance in the European continent was put to an end by Ajax. A group of youngsters from the Dutch side humiliated Real Madrid 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu to push the Spanish heavyweights out of the prestigious tournament. Real Madrid then reappointed Zinedine Zidane to take over the reins at the club and bring back some stability and eventually some glory days.

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo left the Spanish capital earlier last season in a £100m move to join Serie A champions. The 34-year-old talismanic winger scored 450 goals for the La Liga club in nine seasons leaving as the clubs all-time top goalscorer. Now, Real Madrid is looking to find a suitable replacement and have been monitoring the situation of Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

The reports from the Sun claim that Real Madrid is preparing a £100m bid including £15m as add-ons to bring Hazard to the Santiago Bernabeu on a four-year deal offering the Belgian a staggering £400,000 a week. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez recently admitted that he is trying to lure Hazard to the Spanish capital for a long time and is confident that a deal will come through this year, “We have been trying to make Hazard a Real Madrid player for several years, we are working on a project to make people dream again, where we recover our hunger and ambition. I have already lived through this stage before. I have a dream that Hazard will arrive this year. Let us make a good team this year.”

Chelsea signed Hazard back in 2012 from French side Lille in a £32m deal and he has helped the West London club to win two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup and most recently the Europa League. The 28-year-old attacking midfielder has scored 85 goals and created another 54 for the Premier League club. But Hazard has stalled on a contract extension with Chelsea and has just one year until his deal with the club expires when he will leave for free.

Therefore, the west London outfit will now decide to cash in on Hazard who has already confirmed that he is saying his goodbye’s to the fans and club after a 4-1 win against Arsenal in the Europa League final in Baku
