According to the latest reports, Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is targeting a move for Liverpool superstar Adam Lallana in the upcoming summer transfer window. The English star has not been able to fight his way into Liverpool’s starting eleven over the past few months and is looking for a move away from Anfield to resurrect his career.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool has had quite an incredible season this term as they managed to lift the Champions League trophy for the sixth time in their illustrious club history. The Merseyside club also pushed Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to the last day of the season for the Premier League title as they finished just one solitary point behind the leaders. Manchester City stormed their way to the Premier League title last season when they broke multiple records and won the League, amassing a staggering 100 points in the process.
However, the Reds ensured that this season’s title race would grow a few nerves from the blue half of Manchester. Klopp’s side lost just one game throughout the competition and that was to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City, on the other hand, became the first side in English history to win the domestic treble. Pep Guardiola’s men were eliminated out of the Champions league by Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter finals of the tournament.
However, Liverpool defeated Spurs 2-0 in the European final to clinch the trophy and Tottenham now have a big task in the summer transfer window in order to once again ensure that a memorable season is formed next term. One player who was an unused substitute for Liverpool in the final was English international Adam Lallana and the 31-year-old is tipped to leave Klopp’s outfit in the summer. Lallana has had a few issues with injuries over the past few seasons and has not been able to get back into the starting eleven for Liverpool.
Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson and James Milner are usually Klopp’s trusted midfielders and when Alex Oxlade Chamberlain returns from fitness, he will also add an extra layer of dynamism to the forte. The summer signings of Naby Keita and Fabinho also pushed Lallana further down the pecking order and he hasn’t looked the player that he was just a few terms ago. Lallana was initially the main man who would showcase Klopp’s philosophy as a presser and counter pressing for the team, but the injury plagued layoff hasn’t helped his cause.
Asked Adam Lallana if he was staying at #LFC this summer. "Yeah, absolutely no question about it," he said. "I couldn’t be happier here, winning Champions Leagues. I know my ability & I know what I can give"

It could finally be time to move on for Lallana but Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen to sign the player he once worked alongside. The duo shared quite a special bond as they worked together during their time at South coast club Southampton.
Danish play-maker Christian Eriksen could leave the North London club this summer as interest from several top clubs in the continent brews. Due to this, Lallana might be the one to take his place and fill the void at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but the fans would surely be shocked if that is the case.
