Unai Emery Opens Up On Lacazette Injury And Car-Jacking Incident Involving Kolasinac And Ozil

According to a recent report that is doing the rounds, Arsenal manager Unai Emery has insisted that Alexandre Lacazette’s injury, which he had incurred in the match against Lyon in the Emirates Cup is not serious. However, that has not prevented the Gunners from being wary about the injury picked up by the influential Frenchman, which cost the Londoners the game against the Ligue 1 outfit.

The Story Involving The Injury Of Lacazette And The Car-Jacking Incident Involving Ozil And Kolasinac

After being voted the Player of the Season for the North London side in the last term after an impressive round of performances, this injury to Lacazette could come as a huge blow for the Gunners. However, as per the report, Unai Emery seems to have cleared the air regarding the injury worry and is quite optimistic about the situation, stating that he should be back in no time as it is nothing serious.

Speaking to the media about the injury, the Spanish gaffer talked about what exactly happened and provided more insights on it. He said, “It is in his ankle.” He added, “He will probably be assessed over the next few days – but it is not serious. We are thinking it is not important, he decided with the doctor and with me that it is better to take no more risk. He tried to continue playing but I think it was better in the pre-season to take patience.”

Speculations are rife that Arsenal has their eyes on Lille forward Nicolas Pepe and have made a bid to bring him to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer market. However, Lacazette has been one of the most influential players in the Arsenal lineup as his partnership with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has proved to be a silver lining for the Gunners in a rather gloomy 2018/19 season in the Premier League.

What Next For The Gunners; What Did Manager Unai Emery Say?

Any injury blow to the French attacker will not be good for the overall morale of the team, as they head into the new season. They will want to win and keep winning as much as possible, as they look to win some major titles this time under the former Sevilla and PSG main-man.

Emery also said, “The doctor said to me he is going to check tomorrow but the thinking is that it is not important.” Besides, he also gave his insight about the car-jacking incident involving Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac as he said, who was left out of the squad that faced Lyon in the Emirates Cup, which the latter won by 2-1.

The Arsenal manager said, “Every player is very important in the team, but also each moment and some circumstances give us a decision between the player and us,” said the Spaniard in his post-match press conference.

“It is not a good moment to play because their mind is not now 100 per cent. It is a very personal circumstance and the most important thing now is that they can feel good, they can feel safe, they can feel calm with their family. They came this morning but I spoke to them and decided it was best to continue their resting with their families and wait for a few days to hopefully come and start normally with the team.”
