Latest: Chelsea Will Adapt A New Style Of Play Soon, Believes Frank Lampard

Chelsea are on the prime to relish Frank Lampard’s attacking imperial tactics and yet to win in this season’s Premier League as the boss urges his side to fill the void left by their star man, Eden Hazard. The Belgian master left Stamford Bridge this summer to give his classy career a new turn as he set foot on Spain, Real Madrid being his new destination. Hazard’s influence in Chelsea blue has been monstrous as the winger enjoyed a trophy-laden eight-year stay there. It was the Champions League that was missing from player’s cabinet and that pinching effect drove him to Bernabeu where he dreams of claiming that crown. Now that he is gone, the English giant are building a new look to their side.

Club legend Frank Lampard is now in the hot seat and young sparkles like Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham along with experience holders of Giroud, Kante and Pedro are in the creation of something new, something collective than of previous days. All are so to replace the gem that had such an impact on the club. In a way to get back to the standard, the club is known for, the manager has already put an emphasis on the team’s cohesion more rather looking like a one man force in future.

The Blues’ boss only bagged a point from the first two games of the new season and apart from his defensive crumble, he lacks a leader on the front line. Though Chelsea created attacking brilliance against Manchester United and Leicester, they weren’t clinical enough to put the game to bed when needed. While Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus Cheek remain in the sidelines, Mason Mount and Pedro possessed quality in the final third.

With Giroud and Tammy Abraham deemed not good enough in the first two games, though he played a clarified role as a target man and the leaky defence caused problems registering points on board. As a case, the manager is adamant to draw up better conclusions in future and stop the inconsistency growing in the squad.

Lampard said: “We will have to find the goals among the group. I know the stats and how many goals Hazard was part of. They are facts and ones we have to try and address with work, which means can we score more from other areas? Can we be more clinical upfront?”

“The challenge is clear for the strikers and attacking players. Can you be the players to score those goals? I agree, the top teams in the league tend to have players who are scoring regularly, who win games that are tight, who make you clear in games in good periods, that you score enough goals to put the game to bed.”

“And that is a challenge for us because it is something we are not doing and we need to do. This is football and you have to adapt constantly. With Eden, we all know the reliance in terms of his output was huge. He is in the top bracket of world players and football’s attacking players so you have to accept that.”

“But I have not considered it and the players should not. The players should just play as they play. There is enough quality in this team to win games for sure without Eden. He is not here now so that’s the end of that story.”

The gaffer’s clear statement reveals how much he wants from his side on the pitch. Frank knows how delightful Hazard’s commitment has been for the club and now the time has come for the squad to replicate the same.
