Report: Update On The Performance Of Chelsea’s Contingent For England

The Czech Republic shocked England on Friday night in the qualification round of European Championship. Though England stayed at the top of the table in their group after this defeat. England collected 12 points from 5 matches so far. On the other hand, Czech Republic collected the same number of points from 6 matches so far.

Gareth Southgate fielded his side with a formation of 4-2-3-1 in this match. Jordan Pickford was in the goal for the English side. Kieran Tripper played as the right-back and Danny Rose was deployed in the left side. Harry Maguire and Michael Keane were there in the central defence of the English National side on Friday. Jordan Henderson and Declan Rice were two defensive midfielders chosen for this match.

Mason Mount was playing just behind the centre forward. On the other hand, Raheem Sterling and Jason Sancho were playing at both the flanks. Harry Kane was the lone centre forward up front on the field for England. The likes of Trent Alexander Arnold, Ben Chilwell, Fikayo Tomori, Tyrone Mings, Joe Gomez, Ross Barkley, Harry Winks, Marcus Rashford and Tammy Abraham were in the bench for the Three Lions. The Czech Republic came with same 4-2-3-1 formation against England.

England took the lead in this match with a goal of Harry Kane at the 5th minute of the match. Harry Kane successfully converted from the spot. Jakub Jankto was shown a yellow card for argument at the 8th minute of the match. Just after a minute, Jakub Brabec scored for the Czech Republic to equalise the scoreline. Danny Rose was shown a yellow card for a foul at the 10th minute of the match. No more significant events took place in the first half of the match. The first half ended with a scoreline 1-1.

In the second half of the match, the head coach of the Czech Republic took off their star centre forward Patrick Schick and brought in Zdenek Ondrasek at the 65th minute of the match. Raheem Sterling was booked for argument at the 68th minute of the match. Ross Barkley came in place of Mason Mount at the 72nd minute of the match. Marcus Rashford also came in place of Jadon Sancho. On the other hand, Jakub Jankto was subbed off for the Czech Republic. Jan Kopic came in place of him. Zdenek Ondrasek scored the second goal for Czech Republic at the 85th minute of the match.

Gareth Southgate subbed in Tammy Abraham in place of Declan Rice to save the game. However, it was too late. England never looked like the better side in the field. They were not able to find some clear cut opportunities. The players looked tired and hopeless throughout the whole match. Harry Kane did not do anything except that goal from the penalty spot. It was the debut match for the young midfielder of Chelsea, Mason Mount. However, he was also not having his best day at the office. England still have to win a match to ensure the qualification in the European Championship next year.
