Arsenal lost to Sheffield United on Monday in yet another away fixture, where the team failed to show up. Long before the poor set of individual performances that the players put in that lost them the match, the team-lineup already looked to annoy the fans once again. There weren’t too many big changes made. The subtle ones that did show up, did not impress the Gooners.
Emery’s reputation has been slowly going down the drain. He has been trolled and mocked by the fans for the lack of control and vision. His creative style of football has been termed a “joke” by many. Further, many of the former players too don’t really share his vision.
Keeping that in mind, this loss came post the international break. Also, Emery did not utilize the players that have now regained fitness. They were either mere bench-warmers or not even on the substitute’s list. This got the fans worked-up once again and they took to social media to express their discontent with the current boss.
Here are three reasons why Unai Emery needs to be sacked from the job immediately-
No Mesut Ozil In The Squad
After a really positive recent interview by both Emery and Ozil, the former World Cup winner was nowhere to be found. He was not just an absentee from the starting eleven but was missing from the squad as well.
This did not really please the fans, who wanted to see Ozil play in this match. The loss sent out a clear message that Emery can’t be trusted and the fans took to social media with the #EmeryOut hashtag trending once again.
Granit Xhaka Must Go
Most of the fans and Football Pundits have totally failed to understand so far why the Spanish manager persists with Xhaka. The Swiss international is barely an average midfielder and is now the captain of the team.
Playing him on a regular basis is quite ridiculous, while the likes of Lucas Torreira rot on the bench. It is just a really sad state and there is a serious need for change. There is no doubt in most fans’ minds that the other younger talents deserve more chances than Xhaka. Once again Emery doesn’t seem to care what the fans or the Pundits think.
Tierney, Holding And Bellerin Need To Start
The defensive line did a decent job against Sheffield United. Hence, it can not be compared to the one that Emery has been starting in the Cups. The back-line of Bellerin, Chambers, Holding and Tierney, is surely Arsenal’s best. Even if David Luiz wants to play, Chambers can play as a defensive midfielder and still be part of the playing eleven.
Ornstein: If Emery gets sacked Ljungberg’s ready to take temporary charge

He has looked solid at the back so far this season. His contribution could be vital in the days to come. One thing is for certain, Emery needs to go. It will be interesting to see who will replace him when he is gone, with quite a few managers linked with the job at the Emirates. David Ornstein recently suggested that Ljungberg is ready to take the Spaniard’s job temporarily if he is indeed sacked.
