The Latest Eden Hazard Story-
Eden Hazard has quite recently admitted that he indeed had a talk with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez after the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Hazard finally completed his dream move to Real Madrid with an £89m price-tag that could rise to a hefty £150m in add-ons, post the completion of certain clauses in his contract with the Los Blancos. It was one of the deals of the summer, which benefitted both parties, as they reached a mutual agreement.
During his time in Chelsea, he has been a part of 2 Premier League title victories as well as 2 Europa League trophies. He has also won the FA Cup and the League Cup during his time in the Stamford Bridge. Every summer transfer, he had been linked away with a move from Chelsea and in a documentary with Real Madrid TV, he revealed about his meeting with the Real Madrid president which gave foundations to his move to the Spanish capital 12 months down the line.
He also acknowledged the influence of his compatriot Thibaut Courtois in the transfer. Talking about the impact that his Belgian team-mate had on his transfer to the Bernabeu, Hazard stated, “Courtois is someone I know well and in which I trust. He always told me it was the best club. When he finished the World Cup in Russia I wanted to go to Madrid, I had already made the decision.”
“It was not possible and I was another year Chelsea. That made the exit easier, Chelsea understood and let me out. I spoke to Florentino and told me that I expected in Madrid.”
“After I spoke with Luka Modric and felt that everyone wanted me to see at Real Madrid. And finally fulfilled.”
It has not been a bright start for Hazard in his dream club as he’s been facing injury setbacks but the Belgian superstar is slowly finding his feet and getting into the game slowly and steadily and it is only a matter of time before he unleashes the beast in him, single-handedly dictating games like he does for Belgium and once in his Chelsea shirt.
Chelsea Post Hazard-
Signing Christian Pulisic was a great move by the Blues, prior to the transfer ban that was imposed on them. The USA international made a slow start to life at the Bridge but has now really picked up the pace, with his play in recent weeks. He looks good and it seems now that Chelsea won’t be missing Hazard after all, as things look quite settled.
Had they not added him and Kovacic, the situation could have been problematic for them this term. They had already lost a few of their stars and were in need of more backup. However, their foresight and long-term planning paid off big-time and they can now focus on the future.
The attacker recently scored the perfect-hattrick, which would have made any forward proud. Frank Lampard’s tactics at the west London outfit have been quite positive, due to which players like Pulisic have flourished.
It is only a matter of time before the club is able to spend more money and buy new players. Once the transfer ban is lifted, things will be much better for the Londoners. Hopefully, they can get back to winning titles in the days to come and can also finish in the top four this season.
