The club management of the Blues are trying to find a suitable alternative of Kepa Arrizabalaga in the next summer transfer window. The performance of Kepa Arrizabalaga in this season has not been praiseworthy. The fans are certainly not happy with the performance of their Goalkeeper so far in this season. However, it is very much unlikely that the club management of the Blues will be able to find a good goal-keeper to replace Kepa in this January transfer window.
So, Kepa Arrizabalaga will be the first choice goalkeeper of the Blues till the end of this season. If Kepa’s performance improves in the near future, the club management will certainly think in a different way, though for now, nothing is certain.
Kepa Arrizabalaga replaced Thibaut Courtois at Chelsea in the summer transfer window of 2018-19 season. It was a panic buy by the club management of the Blues as they triggered the release clause of the young Athletic Bilbao goal-keeper. It was reported that Oblak was the first choice for the Blues. However, Oblak refused to accept the deal and that’s why the Blues brought in Kepa Arrizabalaga. Was that the right decision? Probably we will be able to find the answer after the end of this season.
Here are the three potential alternative options for Kepa Arrizabalaga that Chelsea can sign-
1. Andre Onana (Ajax):
The Nigerian goalkeeper is certainly catching the eyes with his brilliant performance for Ajax throughout the previous season. He has been consistent enough in this season to impress the big European clubs. So, Andre Onana will certainly be under the radar of the Blues in the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to the reports, the club management of Ajax will not let Onana go in the winter transfer window as they will not get much time to find a suitable alternative for him. Andre Onana will also be happy to move to Premier League. So, there is a possibility of the potential deal in the upcoming summer transfer window.
2. Aaron Ramsdale (Bournemouth):
Aaron Ramsdale has currently been able to prove himself in the Premier League. The young 21-year-old goalie is now the first choice for AFC Bournemouth. Two experienced goalkeepers like Boruc and Begovic are now in the bench for Bournemouth. Ramsdale’s performance has been impressive this season.
However, Bournemouth’s current form is very much poor. There is a huge possibility of getting relegated after the end of this season. If Bournemouth does not play in the Premier League next season, Ramsdale will certainly consider moving to another club. Chelsea might well be his next possible destination in this scenario.
3. Matt Ryan (Brighton):
If the club management of the Blues wants to keep Kepa Arrizabalaga, they would go for an experienced Goalkeeper. Ryan is currently playing really well for Brighton and Hove Albion. He can be a great backup option for Kepa Arrizabalaga in the next season.
The inclusion of Ryan in the squad of the Blues will certainly keep Kepa Arrizabalaga in pressure to perform well in every match.
