The former Blues’ manager, Antonio Conte wants a reunion with the 29-year-old Spanish left-back in his current club Inter, the report suggests. Conte managed Chelsea for a couple of successful seasons from 2016-2018 and guided them to a Premier League title and FA Cup in two successive years in west London.
Chelsea is looking to reinforcement next summer and they could sell some of the players who are currently out of favour in the squad. The left-back position is something both Chelsea and Inter are looking to boost ahead of next season and Alonso is now top of the wish list of Antonio Conte. Marcos’s father claimed that his son loves Italy during Alonso was playing in Sirea A for Fiorentina a few years back.
The Spanish full-back joined the Blues in 2017 and was one of Conte’s first signings at the London Club. Alonso won a couple of trophies under Conte during that time but since then has been inconsistent for blues and for that Lampard is playing Azpilicueta (a natural right back) at left-back, even after having Alonso and Emerson, two natural left-footed defenders in the team.
Meanwhile, according to Tuttosport via Mail clams that Conte wants either Alonso or Emerson at Inter, though the former has now reclaimed his spot in Chelsea’s first-team. Emerson’s agent Luis Fernando Garcia told Juvenews.eu a few days back that his client will decide his future in the summer. Emerson has not started for Chelsea since the 21st of January after their draw with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. His defensive qualities have been in scrutiny throughout the season which has raised questions over his Chelsea future.
“We know very well about Juventus’ interest but Inter is also interested,” Garcia said. “So far there has been no talk of a transfer with Chelsea, nor has there been any official offers. I believe that until May there will be no official offers from the two clubs. In the summer we will decide what to do.”
Ashley Young was bought permanently by Inter Milan from Manchester United in the January transfer window to strengthen their defence. On the other hand, Victor Moses from Chelsea and Biraghi were also signed on loan. Inter plays with Kwadwo Asamoah and Antonio Candreva as their full-backs in a 3-5-2 formation. They are having an issue at that left-flank and are in need of a permanent solution.
Due to this, either one from the duo could really fortify their squad and push them to a title win soon. Conte is well known to target titles, wherever he manages. He previously had a couple of successful seasons with Chelsea and will want to replicate some title-winning terms in his native country as well.
Conte has been one of the more successful coaches in world football. He is always a manager who knows the kind of players that he wants to sign and pushes to sign them. Keeping that in mind, he is now out to get either one of his former players and it will be interesting to see which players he is able to sign now.
