Chelsea is furious with their starlet Mason Mount for ignoring self-isolation advice to play football with his best-mate Declan Rice, according to reports. The 21-year-old Englishman was advised to stay at home in self-isolation after team-mate Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive for coronavirus.
The entire Blues team, coaches and support staff entered self-isolation after the 19-year-old winger was sent home from training last Monday, after showing symptoms of being affected by the deadly virus.
He later tested positive for the virus which has been declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation. The world has started taking things seriously and so did the west London outfit immediately, as they tried to curb the impact from their side.
Government guidelines had already suggested that anyone who has come into contact should remain at home for a week and therefore, the whole Chelsea squad along with the coaching staff have strictly imposed the guidelines.
Mount has failed to follow the instructions which has angered the Chelsea hierarchy and he has also been hauled for talks. The England international was spotted playing five-a-side football with West Ham star Rice on Sunday at Trent Park Football Centre near Barnet on Sunday.
A fan was quoted saying, “I took my 14-year-old son there for a training session. We noticed a car that looked a bit ridiculous and wondered who was in it.”
“Then another came along with three or four people inside. My son recognised Mason Mount as the driver. They played a kickabout of five or six-a-side. Declan Rice was playing too.”
Following this, a Chelsea spokesperson reminded Mount of his responsibilities and reprimanded him.
Meanwhile, Hudson-Odoi has revealed that he has recovered from the deadly virus causing havoc across the whole world.
He uploaded a video on Instagram stating, “As you may be aware, I had the virus for the last couple of days, which I have recovered from.”
“I followed the health guidelines and self-isolated myself from everybody for the week. Hope to see everybody soon and hopefully be back on the pitch very soon. Take care.”
The Latest Update On The Premier League-
Looking at the current situation of the outbreak and the carnage that it has caused so far, things don’t seem to be getting back on track any time soon. The football could be suspended for a few more months, with the season being potentially scrapped for good.
With that being, the Blues had the momentum, prior to the outbreak and will be disappointed that the football was halted. They had beaten the likes of Everton and Liverpool, with the former being hammered by the west London outfit.
On the other hand, Frank Lampard will now look to focus on the matters in hand. He will have a key transfer window coming up, with a significant amount of funds in hand. It will be crucial for them to spend the money on the right kind of players, who can add the much-needed quality that has been missing so far.
