Wow! Yaya Toure Backs Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta To Succeed

Arsenal

Former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has claimed that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will become a world-class manager if the Gunners back him in the transfer market. In a video interview with Goal, the 36-year-old former Manchester City and Barcelona star had nothing but praise for the Spaniard.

Yaya Toure said: “I think Arteta will be a very, very good manager. I worked with him for a couple of years at Man City and I saw him in action. I want Arsenal to spend more and back him because he can one of the best in the world if the board allow him to do what he wants.”

However, the big question is whether the Arsenal board will actually give the Spaniard the freedom and backing in the transfer market or not. Can they afford the backing that their former skipper needs to bolster the considerably poor Arsenal squad?

Bernd Leno reveals four demands Mikel Arteta has made of Arsenal ...

Arteta took over from Unai Emery in late 2019 with the club seemingly looking to the long term with them giving the Spaniard a three and a half year deal.

From his early days, it seems that the Gunners have made no mistake by appointing their former skipper as their new manager. The north London club has significantly improved following the appointment of the Spanish gaffer.

In the one window he has been in charge of, Arsenal managed to add Pablo Mari from Flamengo and Cedric Soares from Southampton to their squad. However, both players have joined the club on loan.

The pair of defenders were signed as Arteta desperately needed reinforcements in defence but in the summer, the club needs to back the manager much more significantly.

It remains to be seen how active the London-based club actually is in the transfer market this summer and whether they will continue to follow Arteta’s lead as Toure suggests.

Qualification for European competition is likely to have a major impact on the club’s plans but the Gunners currently sit ninth in the Premier League while football is postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

However, the gap is not too big. they are just eight points behind fourth-placed Chelsea with a game in hand.

The Latest Update Regarding The Situation-

The season has now been halted. The situation with regards to the outbreak is bad. With that being said, the test will now be, post the crisis is averted. All teams are waiting eagerly to know the result of the campaign eventually.

The Gunners, like some of their rivals, will be focused on finishing in the top four of the Premier League. One of their main aims will now be to make it to the Champions League once again so that they can go ahead and sign a few top players in the days to come.

Though there might be an issue of the transfer budget, the fact that they will be in Europe’s top competition can hand them some additional funds. Everything will now depend on the fact, whether or not, UEFA upholds City’s ban. If the ban is retained, it will surely benefit the north Londoners and hurt the likes of Leicester City and Manchester United.
