Manager Confirms Replacing This Chelsea Signing Will Be Something “Impossible”

The RB Leipzig manager had given a huge boost to the transfer speculation about Timo Werner joining Chelsea by saying, it would be impossible to replace him at the German club. Many reports across Europe this week has suggested that the 24-year-old striker will join Chelsea next season. Werner had reportedly agreed to join Frank Lampard’s side rejecting offers from the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Liverpool. These three clubs were in the race to sign him. However, Chelsea were the hot favourites and they did manage to sign him.

Werner has been in prolific form this season, scoring 30 goals already in all competitions for Leipzig. Leipzig’s boss admits it would be difficult to replace those numbers of goals in coming future.

What Nagelsmann Stated About The Move?

Nagelsmann told Goal, “It is not possible. You can not clone a player. If Timo Werner leaves us, the main thing would be to replace 34 goals a season. That would be the main task, which perhaps could not be solved by just one player. It is important that we get the same output at the end of the day, that is the complex thing about the topic.”

Werner will join Frank Lampard’s relatively young side in the Premier League. The legendary Blues boss is new to a managerial career. This is only his second season as a football manager. Talking about coaching styles, Nagelsmann showed his respect towards the Atletico Manager boss Diego Simione. He said that the tactics and gameplay of the Spaniard are extraordinary and different from the rest.

He went to talk about the main-man, whose side knocked Liverpool out of the Champions League this season. It was a tough ask but they did get the job done. This is why Simeone got more praise from the Bundesliga coach.

The best thing about Atletico’s win this year was that it ensures that the competition will crown a new winner. Hopefully, things are great and either one of these sides can push for a title win this term. It will be really interesting but the admiration from the German is great.

What Next For Chelsea?

Werner will be the second signing under Frank Lampard ahead of next season. The Blues were banned from recruiting any player last summer because of the transfer ban they had. Even the ban was lifted before January this year, they did not make any additions to the squad.

Hakim Ziyech became the first signing for Chelsea under Frank Lampard. The 27-year-old Ajax playmaker signed a four-year contract with the West London club in a £37m transfer. After the expected departure of experienced attacking players like Willian and Pedro, Ziyech will be one of the key players for Lampard in the coming season.

He will play for them along with their latest signing Timo Werner. Werner is a versatile forward who can play in any position in the frontline of the attack. Fans will be excited about these two signings at least after a very average season.
