An Update On The Future Of This Chelsea Star, Who Failed To Impress Frank Lampard

Chelsea flop Tiemoue Bakayoko reportedly has his heart set on a return to AC Milan at the end of the season. This is if reports in England are to be believed. The Blues are believed to be desperate to recoup the money they spent on the French midfielder. He is the player whom they signed for £40m from Monaco in 2017.

The 25-year-old, who is currently back at his former club Monaco on a season-long loan, won the FA Cup with Chelsea in his debut season in England where he featured in 43 games in all competitions.

He was often singled out for his inconsistent performances in Chelsea colours. Maurizio Sarri shipped him off to Milan on loan last campaign after deeming him as surplus to requirements.

The Story, From Chelsea To Milan

Milan ultimately failed to turn his stay into a permanent deal. This led the player to once again be shipped off. The 25-year-old back at Monaco and once again failing to impress. According to reports in England, the Frenchman dreams of returning to the San Siro. This is where he still shares a strong bond with the players as well as the fans.

It is even claimed that he was even in attendance when Milan lost to rivals Inter in February. He even consoled the players after the 4-2 defeat. It still remains to be seen where the Ligue 1 winner with Monaco in 2017 will be playing his football next term.

Monaco has an option to buy him, but they will have to fork out a fee in the region of £37m to land him. The Ligue 1 side are unlikely to exercise their option to make the deal permanent, with the player failing to impress. It is also understood that La Liga side Sevilla are also weighing up a move for Bakayoko.

Milan is not believed to be interested in securing his services as of now. However, it has been claimed that discussions cannot be completely ruled out. Speaking recently, Bakayoko admitted he will have a “feeling of failure” when he finally leaves Chelsea for good.

What He Told L’Equipe?

“When I leave Chelsea, I will have a feeling of failure because it is a club I loved. There was a trigger because I had gone through all the stages and it was like I had a break in my ambition. I could not do enough. Now I work a lot more.”

Chelsea could lose a host of players in the summer. The likes of Willian and Pedro are all set to leave with their contracts expiring. Meanwhile, they could also sell players like Marcus Alonso, Emerson Palmieri and Michy Batshuayi to raise funds for new signings.

The world’s most expensive keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has also failed to impress Frank Lampard. He could be shipped off with Lampard eyeing a move for Ajax keeper Andre Onana, who is also wanted at Barcelona.
