Gareth Southgate Kept Chelsea Stars In England Squad Despite Imminent Threat

Gareth Southgate decided to include Chelsea duo Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham despite Covid-19 threat. Mount and Abraham have returned from their vacation at Mykonos last week and are now participating in a 14 day self-isolation period according to the government’s protocol for safety.

However, they are in England boss’s plans for their upcoming Nations League doubleheader against Iceland and Denmark. They are both included in the England squad even after carrying the threat of coronavirus inflation within the squad.

What Gareth Southgate Has Planned For England?

Several of them did test Coronavirus positive during the test happened in their training camp giving a crunch time on their preparation. However, everything will be sorted out with safety measures intact.

The Chelsea duo played an incredible season under Frank Lampard. They were key in helping them to a fourth-place finish, Champions League football as a gift. The team also reached a FA Cup final to mark off a great campaign.

They will wish to do the same internationally to be a part of an exciting period in the nation’s football history. Southgate will be wishing the new talents give him a handful option to choose for the European championship next year. The tournament was delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Chelsea Dominates The Transfer Window Once Again

Their club Chelsea is doing massive things in the transfer window after being faced with a season ban from signing players last term. They managed to secure signings for Werner and Ziyech in January to join this summer. That’s surely not all, with the Kai Havertz deal also recently completed, things have really picked up in west London.

Leverkusen star, Kai Havertz is also set to arrive at the Stamford Bridge once his £90m valuation is met. The Blues are hopeful to land the star at the end of this week. Chelsea director Mariana is doing an immense job in the transfer dealings.

Even after these arrivals, Frank is still thinking to get the best out of his existing youth prospects. That is to have enough depth to work with. He wants to bring Chelsea their past glory by winning major honours next season. It is also expected of his squad after making such great signatures.

If they fail to do so, the likes of Mount and Abraham can fill the voids. That is what Gareth Southgate will want to see more often than not, with regards to the English national side. Things could get quite interesting when the season does restart.
