Mikel Arteta Made A Huge Statement About Tottenham Boss Jose Mourinho

Arsenal

The Jose Mourinho Comment- The Gunners’ boss had replied to Jose Mourinho’s comments about him. This was after the North London derby. Spurs won the tie 2-1 courtesy of Huen-min Son and Toby Alderwaierald’s goals at the Tottenham Hotspurs stadium. Alexander Lacazette scored a thunderbolt from outside of the box in the opening half in the game. That was before Spurs forward Huen-min Son equalized with a smart finish from a poor back-pass by defender Sead Kolasinac.

Tottenham’s Belgian centre-back Toby Alderweirald’s header in the final moments of the game was enough to grab all three points for the Whites. After the game, Mourinho told that Mikel Arteta is doing a good job. He complimented the Spaniard, who took over from Unai Emery.

What Arteta Said About Jose Mourinho?

In response, Arteta said: “Thank you, I can see what he is trying to do as well. Look, he wins again, you know. It is two completely different styles and he manages really, really well.

“He has a really good team behind him. I said before in the press conference that I believe he always finds a way to win. When I give it to him I feel bad, but congratulations to them. They got the points today and we will move forwards.”

They don't have much to celebrate' - Mourinho hits back at Arsenal ...

Arsenal now has lost 15 points from winning positions in the Premier League after Mikel Arteta took over as a manager. They did it again versus Tottenham throwing the 1-0 lead to lose the game 2-1 at the end.

What He Further Went On To Add?

“Yes, I am disappointed, frustrated, and really sorry for the boys first. The way they played today, the personality they showed to come into this ground and show who we are, nullify the opponent, press them high, forcing them to kick the ball long and defend in a low block which is exactly what we wanted them to do. Obviously, if you give away the two goals away that we have given against these players, it is very difficult to win a derby.”

Chance of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League was looking impossible for the Gunners. They were six points adrift of fourth-placed Leicester City at that time, who had a game in hand. The defeat against Spurs meant they were sitting below Mourinho’s side in the league table.

The Concluding Remarks And What Next For Arsenal?

“A few things. There have been various things since I joined that cost us games. I cannot just single out one of them but a few of the ones you mentioned are involved.”

“Some [are] errors, sometimes it is game management, sometimes it is a set-piece, sometimes it is an individual error but look at the margin that we have. 15 points is a lot and that means we are fighting and competing in every game, we are very close but the margin to win, lose or draw is sometimes small and at the moment we have to improve on that.”

Arsenal eventually ended up winning the FA Cup title in Arteta’s first season at the club. Though Jose Mourinho did not have the same luck, he can still turn things around in the upcoming seasons. He has time in his hand this time. Let’s see what he can do with it.
