The loss to Brentford on the opening day of the new Premier League season has hit Arsenal hard. It was not the performance and the result that they would have expected. The fans were also really upset and angry with the loss. That too to a side that had made it to the top flight of English football after 74 long years.
There are still a lot of stories doing the rounds linking Arsenal to a lot of top players. Some of these stories could convert to actual deals happening. However, it will take a lot more than just simple talks and negotiations to get the job done. The Gunners aren’t really known to push through deals easily and that could be the case this time as well.
The Swap Deal That Arsenal Is Planning To Complete With Barcelona For This Defensive Star
There is no doubt that Arsenal needs more quality in their squad to compete for a European spot if not more titles. They are still in the market for more players. On the other hand, Barcelona is looking for cheap options that can fit their ambitions and help them reduce their wage bill.
It has not been so easy for them and the club has had to make some compromises to get the job done. So far, they have looked really good at handling their situation. However, Ronald Koeman needs more players in his squad and that has been made clear. The La Liga giants are still looking to add more talent.
The right-back position is one where the team has surplus options at present. One new player that they brought in this summer is Emerson Royal, who was on loan with the club last season. The Catalan outfit was trying to offload some of their other options. However, that did not happen so far and they may have no option but to sell Emerson now.

Due to this, The Athletic has reported that Arsenal is considering offering Barcelona, their long-term target, Hector Bellerin. The Spanish side has been keen on having their La Masia product back at the Nou Camp. For this reason, Arsenal has now offered him back in a swap deal.
The north London side has been keen on signing a right-back. The performance of Callum Chambers on the opening day of the season was horrific. This might have urged Mikel Arteta to get a first-choice right-back, who can do a job for him. Nuno Tavares was brought on to replace Chambers towards the end of the game, as the team searched for a goal.
With that being said, Arsenal is keen on offloading Bellerin, who wants to leave. They want Emerson in exchange and a swap deal could be the best solution for both clubs. It would also help Barca reduce their wage bill, which is what they want too. Keeping that in mind, the two parties might agree on a deal and push through a move, as the transfer window is drawing to a close. Let’s wait and watch what happens next!!
