According to reports, Barcelona has reignited its interest in Spanish teenager Fabio Blanco, who now plays for German club Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
Catalan newspaper SPORT has reported that Barcelona have re-engaged their chase of 17-year-old Spanish prodigy Fabio Blanco. That was after first failing to sign him during the summer transfer window.
Originally from Valencia, Blanco came via the club’s development system. The adolescent winger is generally considered as one of Spain’s most promising young players in his age group. He has already made a name for himself in the country. Consequently, when he became available for a free transfer over the summer, he was a popular choice among several teams.
After missing out on acquiring Blanco during the summer transfer window, Barcelona have rekindled their interest in him
In fact, both Barcelona and Real Madrid were interested in acquiring the young winger. He had also piqued the attention of Premier League heavyweights Chelsea and Manchester United, among others. Blanco, on the other hand, turned on the opportunity to play for one of the major teams. He instead signed with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Blanco has been engaged with the club’s Under-19 team since joining them. He has appeared in five games for them in the U-19 Bundesliga Sud/SudWest since signing with them. With two goals and an assist in five outings, the former Valencia superstar has put together a respectable tally of points.
After missing out on acquiring Blanco during the summer transfer window, Barcelona have rekindled their interest in him. They are determined to get him in the January transfer window. Because of their financial predicament, the Catalans have been obliged to acquire young players with an eye on the future. A result of this approach, players like as Yusuf Demir, Kays Ruiz-Atil and Emre Demir, among others, have been signed to the club’s roster.
Barca are aiming to sign the winger on a short-term loan until the end of the season before completing his permanent move at the conclusion of the season
Also connected to the club are Dynamo Moscow’s young midfielder Arsen Zakharyan and Blanco. The latter has recently emerged as a transfer target for the second time in as many seasons.
According to the source, Barcelona are aiming to sign the winger on a short-term loan. It will be until the end of the season. That is before completing his permanent move at the conclusion of the season.
They are also optimistic that Eintracht Frankfurt would be ready to agree to an agreement including variable incentive payments and future sell-on percentages in order to save money on their side of the table. It could be the start of something special. That is if the deal does indeed happen.
In the summer of 2016, Blanco signed a two-year deal with Philadelphia. This was marking his first season in the league. Now, the question is if he is willing to abandon his time in Germany just six months after making the decision to go in order to join FC Barcelona in the next season.
