Real Madrid And Manchester United Set Their Sights On Nordi Mukiele

Manchester United

Manchester United and Real Madrid are both interested in RB Leipzig right-back Nordi Mukiele, who is also being pursued by the two top European giants.

According to a report by the Spanish source Defensa Central, Real Madrid has become the latest team to express an interest in signing Nordi Mukiele on a permanent basis. In addition to Manchester United, RB Leipzig are interested in signing the 23-year-old French utility player, who is valued at around €25m.

Northdi Mukiele came to the Red Bull Arena from Montpellier in the summer of 2018 and has since developed significantly in his position at the Red Bull Arena. The Frenchman is now mainly utilised as a right defender, although he also has the potential to play as a centre-back and as a right wing-back.

Why Liverpool must sign Nordi Mukiele to add depth to their strong defence

He has made 117 appearances for the Bundesliga heavyweights. Further, he has contributed nine goals and seven assists in the process. He is the youngest player in the Bundesliga at the age of 23. His development over the past three years has not gone unnoticed, with some of the most powerful teams in Europe expressing an interest in signing him in the near future. As things stand now, Real Madrid and Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Mukiele.

The recent fitness issues that have plagued Dani Carvajal have led to speculation that Real Madrid is in desperate need of a new right-back in the summer transfer window. With Alvaro Odriozola basically surplus to needs and set to be offloaded whenever he returns from his loan stint with Fiorentina, Lucas Vazquez is the last remaining realistic alternative, and he is just a stopgap measure.

Because of this, Real Madrid has been on the lookout for a right-back in recent weeks. Names like Serge Aurier, Diogo Dalot, and Joakim Maehle have all been connected with the club. Manchester United, on the other hand, seem to be on the lookout for a right-back as well as a centre-back.

In order to do this, Mukiele is one of the possibilities that have appeared on the Red Devils’ radar, with the 23-year-old proving to be a potential option. Dalot is not proving to be a formidable contender at the present, despite Aaron Wan-recent Bissaka’s improvements in his production in the final third.

Real Madrid and Manchester United aren’t the only teams interested in signing the French utility player. He is valued at approximately €25m by RB Leipzig. Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in signing him. What remains to be seen is if any of the potential suitors will make a bid for Mukiele. Or whether Leipzig will be able to retain hold of their star player.

ABOUT THE PLAYER:

Mukiele started his professional football career with Stade Laval. That was where he made his debut in the first squad at the age of 17. On November 28, 2014, he made his professional debut in a 1–1 league tie against Auxerre. While playing for Laval, he attracted widespread notice and ultimately moved to Montpellier HSC for a price of €1.35m.

Mukiele made the move to Montpellier in January of this year. It was on the 21st of January that he made his professional debut for the club. It was in a losing cause 2–0 against Metz in the league. Mukiele signed a contract with RB Leipzig, a German club, in 2018.

Arsenal should target RB Leipzig's Nordi Mukiele to fill right-back void

Mukiele joined RB Leipzig in a transaction for a total of €16m. That is according to the club’s website. Five years have been set out for him under his contract. He made his professional debut for the club on July 26, 2018. It was in a Europa League qualifying match against Häcken, which concluded in a 4–0 victory. In his debut Bundesliga appearance, on September 2, 2018, he played in a 1–1 draw against FC Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Manchester United will rival Real Madrid for his signature. It will be interesting to see which European giant comes out on top in this transfer saga.
