CSK vs DC Live Update: Since the first edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008, it would not be incorrect to say that MS Dhoni has been synonymous with the Chennai Super Kings. The talismanic wicketkeeper-batter has been connected with the club since the initial edition of the IPL. Dhoni has brought the Yellow Army to the pinnacle of success. He has won four trophies in the process. Furthermore, except for the 2020 season, CSK has qualified for the playoffs in every season in which they have competed.
Even though Dhoni declared his retirement from international cricket in 2020, he continues to play for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. He even took over the leadership from Ravindra Jadeja in the middle of the current 2022 season. The all-rounder was feeling the strain of the additional responsibilities on his shoulders. Notably, in addition to the Chennai Super Kings, Dhoni also played for the Rising Pune Supergiants in the Indian Premier League in 2016 and 2017.
A two-year suspension was in effect for CSK and Rajasthan Royals at the time. This was due to their suspected participation in the notorious spot-fixing scam. It occurred during this period. Nonetheless, CSK made a triumphant return to the IPL in 2018. MS Dhoni was overjoyed to be allowed to captain the club once again. Former Indian captain and CSK batting coach Michael Hussey have disclosed that the talismanic batsman made an energizing speech before the start of the 2018 edition. He claims that the former skipper had tears in his eyes throughout the speech.
CSK vs DC Live Update: Over the course of the 2018 season, MS Dhoni performed astonishingly well: Michael Hussey
“We have these championship-winning images on the wall. So I don’t believe there is one specific recollection. I believe it will be the 2018 campaign. For the previous two years, we were out of the competition. We came back. I remember MS delivering a speech right at the start of the season,” Hussey said in a video. CSK released a video of Hussey talking to former Australian opener Matthew Hayden in a ‘Super Reunion’ film. “
“It was at that point that he genuinely began crying. Tears were streaming from his eyes. I remember thinking, ‘Something amazing is happening here,'” he said. Hussey went on to say that CSK’s title-winning season after their comeback gave him chills.
“A memorable campaign. Thinking about what occurred that year gives you shivers simply thinking about it. It was almost as if it was meant to be after returning to the Indian Premier League. MS had a wonderful season. They deserved to be rewarded for it. It was really a memorable occasion,” he went on to explain.
CSK’s decision to release Ravindra Jadeja from his contract in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022 occurred at a time when the squad was suffering. His form has also been less than stellar. Taking into consideration all of the facts, Jadeja decided to step down as captain of the franchise. MS Dhoni, who captained Chennai Super Kings to four championships, has returned as captain. However, other former players, like Graeme Swann and former Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri, have expressed their admiration for Jadeja’s choice.
