Latest Arsenal News: The amount of money that Arsenal will be required to spend is not known to anybody outside the club. Every summer, there is talk of a ‘war chest’. The sole certainty is that where they place the table will influence their financial situation.
With just four games remaining to play in the Premier League season, Mikel Arteta’s team is chasing a top-four finish. If they can earn a Champions League spot, they will be in a lot better position to spend money in the summer window than if they finish fifth.
When it comes to recruiting, the appeal of top European competition will place them in a strong position, as would the higher financial influx. However, that does not rule out taking advantage of a good deal should one present itself.
The Telegraph claimed earlier in April that Arsenal had set their eyes on Florian Grillitsch of Hoffenheim to strengthen their midfield. The aspect of his contract predicament has attracted the attention of other European and even Champions League clubs ahead of this summer. It has contributed to their increased interest in him.
He has played more than 30 times for his country. Grillitsch also has extensive experience in the Bundesliga. He is now in his ninth season with Hoffenheim. They are currently six points behind sixth-placed Cologne in the eighth.
Latest Arsenal News: Regarding the report
SportBILD (Sport Witness) has confirmed that Arsenal is ‘attempting to attract’ the versatile midfielder to north London. They will give him the promise of Champions League play. The story was first reported by UK sites. It has now been confirmed by SportBILD (Sport Witness).
They cannot guarantee that they will be successful in that endeavour at this time. However, it seems like Edu and his colleagues are building the framework in the hopes of being successful in that endeavour. Sevilla is also showing interest in Grillitsch. He has a very impressive passing number. A solid performer across the board, his 99th percentile passing accuracy for long balls is particularly impressive. It is a skill he can demonstrate whether playing central defence, No. 6, or even as a box-to-box option. The latter of which isn’t his strongest position for this kind of play.
It is no secret that Arteta is a fan of players who are capable of playing many positions. So, the club’s interest in such individuals makes perfect sense.
Details of the probable move:
Grillitsch will be 27 in August. This would ordinarily make him a question mark in terms of recruiting strategy. However, with experienced heads like Lacazette, Elneny, Mari, and potentially Granit Xhaka all going, someone with a little experience will be required. Because there is no transfer cost involved, age may be less of a consideration.
Where he’d play, or if he’d come in and essentially replace Elneny, is anyone’s guess. He’s played more defensively this season than he has in midfield. But with an increasing number of connections appearing, he’s one to keep an eye out for in the coming weeks and months.
