MI vs SRH Live Update: Even though the Mumbai Indians (MI) have already been eliminated from contention for a playoff spot in the IPL 2022, all-rounder Tim David has been a surprise for his club. He is now the only member of MI’s explosive middle-order who has not yet suffered a loss in any of the last four matches. He has the potential to become a mainstay soon.
Over the course of his career, Rohit Sharma has earned a reputation for fostering the development of younger players and supporting them in their pursuit of becoming game-winners. Tim David had also gone through something similar when he was in the locker room at the same time as the MI Captain.
The following is what David had to say about the lessons he’s learned from Rohit over this season while he was speaking to the media before their game against the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH):
“It is clear that Rohit has a significant amount of cricket experience. Therefore, it is about attempting to learn from some of his experiences. Remaining cool, doing things that are effective under these settings. Determining how we want to play together as a team. Therefore, sharing the locker room with him has been a beneficial experience. We hope that this may continue in the future.”
MI vs SRH Live Update: “We have gained a fairly decent understanding of the requirements necessary to be successful in the IPL.” – Tim David
Tim David feels that the young and inexperienced players in MI’s roster have gained some much-needed exposure, even though MI is now in the very last place in the points standings.
This experience, according to the 26-year-old, will only make this bunch of kids (including Tilak Varma, Dewald Brevis, Tristan Stubbs, and others like them) better over time and will offer Mumbai a greater opportunity of contending during the next season. In response to this, he said:
“Our team as a whole does not have a lot of previous experience playing in the IPL. Therefore, there are a lot of young men who are stumbling about in this battle, trying to find their footing. I believe that at this point we have a fairly decent understanding of the requirements needed to be successful in the IPL. Therefore, looking forward, it will be crucial for the players who are still in the squad to make use of that experience to return the next year even stronger.”
Even though Mumbai is eliminated from contention to make the playoffs, they still have a chance to remove SRH from contention if they win their game on Tuesday, May 17.
Mi and SRH will faceoff against each other
In the most recent game, which they played against CSK, Kieron Pollard made way for the uncapped South African batter Tristan Stubbs to make his debut in the Indian Premier League. Even though Stubbs was hunting a duck, MI will probably continue to use him with an eye toward the future.
The second half of the Indian Premier League saw Jasprit Bumrah resume his previous pattern of getting wickets. This provided extra support for MI. Bumrah has the third-highest number of wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Wankhede stadium, where he has picked up 37 wickets and has an economy rate of 7.72 runs per over. He likes bowling there. It will be interesting to see how he does against the SRH top-order.
While for the Sunrisers, it is without a doubt win-or-bust at this point. Mumbai will continue sifting through its pool of talent to revitalize its push for the crown in the following season.
