LSG vs KKR IPL 2022: The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have had a mediocre season thus far. They have just four victories in eleven matches in the IPL 2022. Following a string of defeats, they staged a strong comeback by claiming a confidence-boosting victory against the Rajasthan Royals (RR). They had to win their last four games to qualify for the postseason. The team then lost against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their eleventh match.
Former cricketers Mohammad Azharuddin and Wasim Jaffer expressed their opinions on the performance of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing Indian Premier League season.
With so many changes made by the squad during the campaign, Jaffer believes there have been anxieties among the players. He said that the failure of the top-order and the ineffectiveness of the death bowling has been the primary factors for KKR’s poor results. Additionally, the former opener said that the lack of form shown by Aaron Finch, Venkatesh Iyer, and Pat Cummins has undoubtedly affected the team’s chances of winning the game. The Kolkata Knight Riders have fielded a total of 20 players in the present season. This s the most of any club in the competition.
“If there are anxieties inside the squad, and these many changes take place, it will almost certainly show in the outcome. You should take a peek at their top-order as well as their death bowling. Nothing is certain for the club. They have yet to find the proper blend of players to work with. The likes of Aaron Finch and Venkatesh Iyer have been out of form. Pat Cummins has returned at a high economy. This has been the biggest problem for the team,” said Jaffer on Sky247.net’s ‘Not Just Cricket’ Show on CricTracker.
You must commit to supporting the players for at least two to three matches: Mohammad Azharuddin
Azharuddin believes that the Kolkata Knight Riders have not defined the duties of each player. As a result, each player is unsure about his batting position. The former Indian captain continued by saying that the team’s management must support players and instill confidence in them even if they do not perform well.
“There has been no definition of the roles for the players on the squad. The majority of the team’s players are unsure about their batting position or whether or not they will be participating in the next match. You must support the players for at least two to three matches and instill confidence in them. “It’s tough to perform well for any team when you’re playing with fresh combinations,” Azharuddin stated.
