Real Madrid, the La Liga champions, reportedly turned down the chance to sign Carlos Soler, a 25-year-old Spanish international who plays for Valencia
MARCA, a Spanish newspaper, said that Carlos Soler’s agent offered Real Madrid the chance to sign his client in a Bosman move during the summer transfer window of 2023. But the current La Liga champions turned down the chance and said they would first talk to Valencia before going on the attack for the player.
Real Madrid has a chance to sign Carlos Soler
Carlos Soler has grown a lot during his professional career with Valencia. He has become one of the best midfielders in La Liga. At the same time, the international player from Spain has become a regular in his national team and will be hoping to make it to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The 25-year-old has had a good start to the 2022/23 season. Last weekend, he scored Valencia’s only goal in a 1-0 win over Girona. But Soler’s future at the Mestalla is uncertain because he is in the last year of his deal with Los Che. The player’s agent recently told Real Madrid that they could sign him next summer in a Bosman move.
This week, Casemiro’s surprising move to Manchester United has changed the way Real Madrid’s midfield works in a big way. Also, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are both well into their 30s. So the Merengues need to look for long-term replacements for the two.
Real Madrid is now showing interest in several midfielders. Jude Bellingham is said to be their top target for the summer transfer window in 2023. But Kroos recently said things that made it sound like he might retire early. Since Real Madrid won’t replace Casemiro this year, they might have to sign two midfielders next summer.
Will Soler move to the Los Blancos?
So, Soler could be a good fit for Los Blancos. His agent has also tried to sell him to the reigning La Liga champions. But the Merengues have turned down the chance to make a Bosman move for the 25-year-old next summer. That doesn’t mean Real Madrid won’t try to sign the Spanish player, but they want to talk to Valencia first before making a move.
So far, Soler’s agent has not been able to get Real Madrid to go on the attack for his client. It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid goes after the 25-year-old Spanish international in the coming months when they start making plans for the summer transfer window in 2023.
