Arsenal is one of the clubs that want to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, whose contract with Lazio is about to reach a key point
Fichajes says that Arsenal is one of the teams that wants to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also interested. The Serbian midfielder has a year left on his contract with Lazio. So clubs will have a great chance to get him for cheap next summer.
Claudio Lotito, the president of Lazio, said recently that Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s value has gone up from €100 million to €120 million because of how well he has been playing lately. The Serbian international has been amazing this season. In the first 9 Serie A games, he has scored 3 goals and set up 7 others.
Arsenal is showing interest in Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
But his contract says something different, and he still has 18 months left on the deal he has now. Lazio wanted to get a lot of money for the Serbian midfielder in the summer. But his manager, Maurizio Sarri, wanted him to stay, and clubs wouldn’t pay what Lazio wanted for the 27-year-old.
His agent, Mateja Kezman, recently said things that make it sound like they want to look at all of their options. He said, “Sergej has only 18 months left on his contract. After the World Cup, we’ll have to talk to Lazio about what to do with him.”
If Lazio can’t figure out what will happen with him, top clubs will be interested, especially next summer. Many teams will try to get Milinkovic-Savic for cheap after the season is over. There are a lot of teams in the mix, like Manchester United, Liverpool, PSG, and Juventus.
Will the Gunners get him?
It is also thought that Arsenal would like to sign the Serbian midfielder. During the summer, Mikel Arteta tried to bring in a new midfielder. But Granit Xhaka’s great play this season may have made them think twice about getting a new player for that spot.
The Gunners are also ready to sign a new deal with Xhaka. Getting a new midfielder to play in the same spot would be unlikely under those conditions. The 27-year-old midfielder from Lazio could be a good move at best. If he is free, Arsenal will try to get him.
Getting into the Champions League for next season should help their chances. But since other top clubs were also interested, the Serb would have a lot of options. Arsenal is an attractive destination right now, but Milinkovic-camp Savic’s needs to be more clear about what they want before he can decide what to do next.
