Mykhaylo Mudryk, currently playing for Shakhtar Donetsk, is rumoured to be joining Arsenal in January.
The Mirror reports that Edu has reached an agreement with the Ukrainian giants. A sum of around £40 million will be exchanged.
The fire has been fanned now that Mudryk has added fuel to it. It appears that the 21-year-old is eager to sign with the Gunners.
Mudryk has expressed his disappointment to Vlada Zinchenko, wife of Oleksandr Zinchenko if a transfer to the Emirates Stadium is not finalized in January.
Now, as you can see below, the No. 10 player for Shakhtar Donetsk has liked a post from AFTV’s Instagram account that references his transfer to Arsenal.
Some might not see the point in all this social media posting. But when it comes to young players like Mudryk, there is a lot to be learned.
Mykhaylo Mudryk moving to Arsenal?
The Ukraine international, in an interview with Vlada Zinchenko, basically issued a come-and-get-me plea to Mikel Arteta and Edu before he liked the post from AFTV.
Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League would be greatly improved if they signed Mudryk. Squad depth has been a key factor in Manchester City’s success under Pep Guardiola.
As a result of Guardiola’s depth, City fans rarely hear any complaints when key players are out due to injury. Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden fill in for Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish when they are unavailable. If Rodri is out, Kalvin Phillips takes his place, and so on.

Currently, Arsenal lacks that luxury and would struggle if Gabriel Martinelli or Bukayo Saka were to suffer an injury. Thus making the January signing of Mudryk – or another forward – so crucial.
New chapters in the Mykhaylo Mudryk to Arsenal transfer tale appear every day, whether it be a Shakhtar director updating his price tag or Mudryk himself making a statement about his future. The latter has just released a new episode after Mudryk made a significant transfer hint on a possible move to Arsenal.
What’s next in the saga?
The Athletic stated a few weeks ago that Mudryk would cost close to £90 million. But an update from The Mirror showed that Shakhtar had considerably reduced their asking price. Mudryk’s status is always shifting. But according to football.london’s sources, the Ukrainian is still the top target for an offensive acquisition this winter.
Mudryk has been very cryptic about his near future, although he has said things like, “I enjoy the way Arsenal are playing right now, and I try to keep up with their results.”
In addition to Mudryk, the Gunners have been connected to many other offensive options. These include RB Salzburg’s Noah Okafor, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram, and most recently, Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, all of whom will be seeking to make an impression at the World Cup.
The 21-year-old has long been of interest to Mikel Arteta and Edu. He may finally move on from their longstanding interest in January or the next summer transfer window. Mudryk has ten goals in 24 games for Shakhtar this season. So, he must have been excited at the prospect of joining an assault that also included Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
