After picking up an injury in Qatar, Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus will not be able to play for the remainder of the World Cup.
On the other hand, Fabrizio Romano claims that Jesus will be out for at least a few matches. Romano has said that the Brazilian won’t return until January, far after the season’s resumption shortly before Christmas.
Romano made the announcement on his Twitter account.
Gabriel Jesus will miss the rest of the World Cup, sources close to player and Brazil confirm. He has pain in his knee and won’t be able to be back during the competition. 🚨🇧🇷 #Qatar2022

Arsenal suffer a huge loss in the form of Gabriel Jesus
Jesus’ absence during the Premier League’s crucial Christmas fixture period is a significant setback for Arsenal. Jesus’s contribution since arriving at Arsenal from Manchester City has been crucial to the team’s success. It’s true that he hasn’t scored as many goals as they’d hoped. But his play as a whole has been game-changing for the team.
Michael Arteta’s worst dread is for Jesus to be injured at the World Cup. Therefore, the Gunners will be hoping the scans don’t reveal anything too serious.
What a terrible situation this is for Arsenal. Unfortunately for Arteta, their star player hardly played for Brazil. Now he is returning home with an injury.
The significance of Jesus in Arsenal’s progression cannot be overstated. Even if he just misses a few games due to injury, it’s still a major setback.
If his absence extends beyond a few games, it would be reasonable to assume that Man City will be handed the title.
What’s next for the Gunners?
The 25-year-old had a rough World Cup in Russia four years ago. He failed to score a single goal. He later claimed that the experience had “scarred” him. But Jesus has now recovered. He was focused on leading Brazil to the title in Qatar.
But now that the World Cup is gone, he and Arsenal will be hoping that his injury won’t keep him out for too long. Jesus’s knee has been bothering him since before the loss to Cameroon. Further scans would attempt to determine the root of the problem.
Arsenal, who are presently at the top the Premier League standings, will play host to West Ham on Boxing Day. Although they have been granted a break, the Gunners team will be travelling to Dubai later this month to participate in warm-weather training and friendly matches.
Arsenal will definitely want that their star man is back on the field for them soon enough. If he isn’t, then Arsenal need to look at other alternatives. However, this will certainly be a big setback for them.
