“HUGE BOOST TO ARSENAL!”, Arsenal Set To Sign The Star Player Compared To Frank Lampard In His Prime; Spurs Also Interested!

Arsenal

As reported by Corriere della Sera (h/t Tutto Juve), Arsenal is set to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in January despite interest from Tottenham.

According to a prior rumour by Tuttosport (via Sempre Milan), Lazio is eager to trade the slick midfielder to Spurs for £67 million. In addition, La Lazio Siamo Noi told that both Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici wanted to sign the player.

Unfortunately, the proposal did not pass muster. After playing internationally for Serbia, the player ultimately elected to remain in Italy, where he is having a breakout season in Serie A.

Milinkovic-Savic has been outstanding so far this season. He has contributed to 13 wins and has scored three times while dishing out seven assists. Reports from Corriere della Sera (h/t Tutto Juve) indicate that Arsenal would “go all in” to get the services of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Tottenham during the next transfer window.

Will Arsenal get Sergej Milinkovic-Savic?

If the Premier League team makes it clear they want to sign the 27-year-old, he could contemplate leaving. The league leaders may be able to recruit the Lazio star for a lower price now that he is entering the last year of his contract. Spurs is showing interest in signing the player.

The Gunners should make a move for Milinkovic-Savic in January, but only if the price is right. There was no mention about Milinkovic-Savic’s transfer fee to join Mikel Arteta’s team.

However, the in-form midfielder would be a welcome acquisition for a team that needs depth in the centre of the park, with ex-Chelsea player and agent Mateja Kezman tipping him to outperform Frank Lampard (through Mozzart Sport and reported by Football Transfers).

The Gunners’ Premier League title hopes hinge on this, after all

An injury to Martin Odegaard would be devastating. Fabio Vieira has had minimal playing time and Emile Smith-Rowe has missed much of the season due to injury.

The Serb can play the role of a No.10 cover player and a deeper role if needed. If the price is right, Arsenal might make a move for the former Spurs target in January.

The 27-year-old Serbian international has been attracting attention in Italy and during the World Cup, prompting interest from top European teams. Milinkovic-contract Savic’s at Lazio only runs until 2024. Thus, gives his numerous suitors reason to be optimistic, although new contract negotiations are due to take place in Rome as Serie A powerhouses want to avoid having to deal with a valuable player.
