According to Argentine reporter Gaston Edul, Chelsea have reached an agreement with Benfica player Enzo Fernandes on personal terms, and the move is inevitable. The two clubs are yet to work on the financial details and whereabouts regarding the deal but it is now confirmed that the Argentina youngster
Gaston Edul tweeted: “Enzo Fernández has a contractual agreement with Chelsea. His entourage is waiting for Benfica and Chelsea to agree on the payment method.”
Enzo Fernandes was an integral part of Argentina’s 2022 World Cup-winning team.. He might not have been a part of their starting XI from the very beginning of the tournament, but Lionel Scaloni adapted to the requirements of the team as the tournament progressed, and soon Enzo Fernandes became a mainstay in the starting lineup. The midfielder also went on to win the Best Young Player award at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
After seeing his performance in the World Cup, almost all the top clubs in Europe showed interest in signing the youngster. Liverpool and Real Madrid seemed to be the most interested suitors in the beginning. However, Chelsea soon joined the race, and they are now the favorites to sign him, as apparently Enzo Fernandes wants to play for the Blues.
