Gary Neville Makes Bold Comments Over £30m Arsenal Player; Fans Want An Apology Now

Latest Liverpool News

Gary Neville, who is a popular football pundit in England made the headlines after he expressed bewilderment over Oleksandr Zinchenko. Speaking on his Podcast, the former Manchester United player said he was taken aback after Premier League giants, Manchester City sold the Ukrainian professional footballer to Arsenal.

The 26-year-old came to Arsenal with a truckload of Premier League experience. It is worth mentioning that he has won four Premier League titles at Manchester City. Overall, he won as many as nine silverware when he was at Manchester City. Zinchenko is one of the few players who brought ambition and energy to the club.

Having a player like him in the team is an added advantage because of his versatile nature. For the record, he operated as a left-back for Manchester City. Nonetheless, he plays entirely in central midfield for Ukraine. The Ukrainian maestro must be really pleased with the way his team has been performing.

Currently, Arsenal are on top of the English Premier League’s points table. Recently, the Gunners incurred their second and third defeat of this League season. They lost to Everton in the recently-concluded Premier League game at Goodison Park. This was followed by their first loss at the Emirates to Manchester City

On the other hand, the Cityzens are second on the table with 52 points. They are a couple of points behind the Gunners, who have a game in hand. Moreover, Arsenal have one more game to be played. If they manage to win the next game, they will be eight points clear of Manchester City.

Gary Neville expresses bewilderment over Ukrainian maestro Oleksandr Zinchenko

Meanwhile, the former Manchester United defender came up with remarks about Arsenal and Zinchenko in the wake of Manchester City’s defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs got the better of Manchester City by 1-0 as Harry Kane scored the goal to become the club’s highest goal scorer (267).

Gary Neville added that Zinchenko is probably the best football player as far as the left-back role is concerned. He has already shown his prowess in the left-back position. Besides that, he can also operate as a midfielder, which makes him a versatile player.

Meanwhile, Gary also feels that if Pep wanted to play a footballer like that at left-back, then he should not have sold Zinchenko to Arsenal in the first place for £30m in the summer transfer window in 2022. Ever since joining Arsenal, Zinchenko has become quite an important player for the club.

Arsenal Wants To Sign The €12.5M Right-Back In The Summer Of 2023

Neville said, “That was a strange thing. If you want a left-back to play in central midfield and play that dual position, he is probably the best one you could find. So it seems strange more and more that Zinchenko has been let go.”

After Man City’s defeat against Spurs, Pep said, “Normally when we win it is a real team and when we lose it is not. I have a lot of gratitude for these players, I always try to do my best, knew that we were not the same after winning a lot – me the first when I talk about that – but the way we try to go and fight for every ball until the end, we try until the end. I always try to do the next step.
