Earlier, Borussia Dortmund’s sports director by the name of Sebastian Kehl stated the club opted not to renew Mahmoud Dahoud’s contract again. He has by far featured for the club in 138 games across all competitions. The midfielder has scored five goals and provided as many as 16 assists. Meanwhile, he is yet to score a goal or provide any assists this season.
“I had a very open and honest conversation with Mo “I informed him that we would not be extending his contract in the summer. Mo has been with us for six years now, he is a very good footballer and I really have a very high opinion of him,” Kehl told Bild.
“I would not and could not say anything negative about Mahmoud Dahoud. Mahmoud Dahoud is an outstanding footballer. Dahoud was the one who blew up completely 2 years ago. Mahmoud will still be an important factor for us. We hope he stays healthy,” BVB head coach Edin Terzic told WAZ.
