Meanwhile, Atalanta Football Club wants at least €45 million (£39.47 million) in transfer fees for their player. He has scored as many as seven goals and provided one assist in the ongoing edition of Serie A for Atalanta this season. Having played 1281 minutes in the Italian league, he has impressed the football fraternity with his sheer goal-scoring abilities. As a result, he drew interest from big clubs recently.

What’s next?

Earlier in January, the youngster admitted that he is a huge supporter of Manchester United. “Now that you ask, I will not hide the fact that I am a huge Manchester United fan. So personally, it would be one of the biggest things for me, but of course, that doesn’t mean that I would turn down other big clubs if the offers come at some point,” he said. [ Arsenal Newsnow ]

Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini echoed that Hoijland has similar features to Haaland. “The characteristics are very similar, particularly in accelerations. Hoijland is a very fast player and he does the 100 metres in less than 11 seconds. For his height, he has a low centre of gravity and an incredible stride frequency. I’m convinced he will have a great career. Technically, Hoijland always shows the variety and better things,” he added.
