Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal Football Club are leading the race to recruit Manchester United’s top target in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners find themselves in a comfortable position in the ongoing Premier League campaign. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal defied the odds in the best way possible in the competitive league. Rightly so, they are on top of the points table at the moment. The Gunners are five points above the second-placed Manchester City in the ongoing campaign.
Arsenal recently produced a stunning result in their last fixture against Bournemouth FC at the Emirates. Despite being 0-2 down, the Gunners came from behind to pull off a heist at home and proved that they are ‘mentality monsters’. With twelve more games to go, Arsenal will have to operate as a collective force in order to win the title.
The last time when the Gunners lifted the title was back in the 2003/04 campaign under the tutelage of legendary Arsene Wenger. They went the entire season without losing a game and became “The Invincibles”. Notably, they were awarded a Golden Trophy for their extraordinary achievement, thus becoming the only club in the history of football to have accomplished the feat.
However, since then, they struggled to win a title albeit they were several top-four finishes. A club like Arsenal were supposed to be showing ambition to win the title. However, things didn’t turn out well for them. Ever since winning the third Premier League title, their best league position was finishing second in the EPL 2016/17 campaign.
The Gunners leading race to sign Man United’s target
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Manchester United’s target identified as Victor Osimhen. For the record, Victor Osimhen operates as a striker for Napoli in Serie-A. He has been in scintillating form in the ongoing season. As a result, many european clubs want him.
According to a report in RAI via Tutto Napoli, the Napoli striker is linked with some top clubs in Europe. Among the clubs, the Premier League leaders, Arsenal are leading the race for the striker. However, recruiting him won’t be that easy as they will need to break their transfer record to sign the 24-year-old Nigerian professional footballer.
The Nigerian international took Serie A by storm with his blistering form. He has scored a total of 19 goals in 21 games in the Italian league. Apart from showcasing his goal-scoring prowess in Serie A, he scored two more goals in the four UEFA Champions League matches. His goals helped Napoli finish on top of their group.
While speaking to ESPN earlier this year, the Napoli striker echoed that it is quite obvious that the top clubs across the world would track a player who is playing so well. “When you are performing so well, top clubs around the globe are watching, mostly in the top 5 leagues. And to be able to attract interest from these top clubs shows that I am doing great, and it gives me the motivation to do even more for myself and my team.”
