"Now, He Will Move To Liverpool" - Liverpool Set To Pay £61.5m To Hijack Manchester United's Huge Transfer Target

Liverpool Newsnow: Liverpool Football Club are competing with their arch-rivals Manchester United for the aggressive Napoli central defender as per a latest report.

Liverpool Newsnow: Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool failed to operate in a collective rhythm in crucial stages in the ongoing edition of the EPL. As a result, they were unable to churn out results in their favour. Their major positive this season was inflicting a 7-0 defeat on their arch-rivals Manchester United at Anfield.

Apart from that, it has been a story of inconsistent results for them. After being knocked out of all tournaments, Liverpool’s major focus will be to sign off the ongoing EPL on a high. Currently, they are sixth on the Premier League points table with 42 points. They have won 12 games so far. On the other hand, they lost eight games and played out for a draw on 6 occasions. Liverpool have a big game up ahead as they will lock horns with Manchester City at Etihad. In fact, they are the only team that caused a variety of issues for Man City in the Premier League for some seasons. It will be quite interesting to see which team will win the game this time around.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has scored 47 goals and conceded 29 goals and they have a goal difference of 18. They still have a lot of work to do to bolster their defensive unit. The Reds will be looking forward to beefing up their defence by signing some players in the summer transfer window. They have been keeping a tab on Napoli’s central defender. [ Liverpool Newsnow ]

Liverpool ready to splash £61.5m for highly-rated Napoli defender

Liverpool Newsnow: "Now, He Will Move To Liverpool" - Liverpool Set To Pay £61.5m To Hijack Manchester United's Huge Transfer Target

As per the latest reports, Liverpool are ready to compete with Manchester United for Napol’s central defender, Kim Min-Jae. Meanwhile, an Italian journalist identified as Ciro Venerato has said, as quoted in Calcio Napoli, that the Reds are interested to splash €70 million (£61.40 million) for the South Korean international centre-back.

The reporter added that Manchester United and PSG are also interested to pay a huge amount for the 26-year-old. He has been exceptional in terms of ball clearances, tackles, helping the team build the attack and so on. Overall, he has scored two goals and provided an assist in the ongoing 2022/23 season. It is worth mentioning that he is rated as one of the best defenders in Europe. [ Liverpool Newsnow ]

According to the Italian journalist, “Dialogues with his entourage began many weeks ago. Napoli are interested to offer €2.5m/year + €500k in simple bonuses to the defender. Possibly getting rid of the release clause too and focusing on the defender’s desire, who is very attached to the team and the city.”

“A way as any to retain the central defender at least another season. The agency that takes care of his images and interests are much more buyable and are offering him to several continental clubs. The likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and PSG are the ones most interested. They are ready to guarantee the South Korean €5m net per season by paying the release clause. It varies somewhere between €50-70m,” the journalists added. [ Liverpool Newsnow ]
