Arsenal Transfer News: Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are reportedly planning to secure the signature of Juventus defender Gleison Bremer in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal Transfer News: It is quite obvious that the Gunners will be rushing off their feet in the summer of 2023. It is a window where we would see potential incomings and outgoings. The players who struggled for game time at the club are certain to part ways with the club. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta must have already figured out by now which players he wants to keep.
While there are plenty of players at their disposal, sneaking into the playing XI is not that easy. Moreover, there is potential competition even amongst the players of respective roles. Kieran Tierney who was considered one of the top players at Arsenal before is now playing second fiddle to Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Zinchenko.
The Scottish professional footballer struggled to get enough game time as he has been warming the bench more often than not. On the other hand, the Ukrainian international played the most Premier League minutes compared to the former Celtic left-back. Zinchenko has a real case for himself as the best left-back and Arteta is pretty much convinced by his work rate and presence.
Apart from Kieran Tierney, two other players namely Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares have also struggled for game time at Arsenal. Lokonga and Tavares have joined Crystal Palace and Marseille on loan from the Gunners in order to get game time. As per the reports, the Gunners’ hierarchy have put these three players up for sale.
The Gunners reportedly considering a move to sign a Juventus defender in the summer
Meanwhile, the Gunners are considering a move to recruit the services of Juventus defender Gleison Bremer in the summer transfer window. It would be a mutual deal that could see Takehiro Tomiyasu make a switch to the Serie A giants. As things stand, Juventus have been struggling to produce a spark in the passage of the play.
Not long ago, they were docked 15 points by the Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC) for artificially escalating the transfer fees to wrongly boost capital gains. As a result, the Old Lady saw a massive reduction in points. This literally means that there is no ray of light left for them to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Meanwhile, Gleison Bremer has been a pretty decent performer for Juventus since he joined the club. He completed a move to the club from Torino last summer. Since then, he went on to make 27 appearances for the team, netting three goals so far. The defender is estimated at £44m and in this crisis, Juventus may have to cash in on him.
However, the Gunners would prefer not to pay the money entirely. They would want to include Takehiro Tomiyasu including a fee of around £ 27 million. “Physically, Bremer is impressive,” former Arsenal goalkeeper Szczesny told Italian newspaper Tuttosport earlier this season. Furthermore, he said, “Bremer is a very calm boy but, physically, he is a good player. The speed and power he has, he is really impressive.”
