Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal Football Club (AFC) receives a massive boost as William Saliba has spoken to Mikel Arteta about signing a contract.
Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal’s young defender William Saliba has been one of the stellar performers in the ongoing campaign. The France international looked calm and composed as a centre-back and has helped the team bolster the defence in the need of the hour. The brightest prospect has made clean tackles when it mattered the most.
More importantly, he has looked so confident in his approach as well, which has been the key to his success. He has carved out a reputation for himself as one of the best centre-backs this season. Besides that, he has even kept the opposition strikers in check by constantly keeping a track of them.
Saliba has well and truly thrived as a centre-back at the club with top-notch qualities. For sure, he would love to continue to shine at the highest level for the club. Arsenal have the joint second-best defence in the league as they have conceded 25 goals so far this season. Only Newcastle United have conceded fewer goals (17) this season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal star William Saliba has confessed to his boss Mikel Arteta that he would like to stay at the club. Amid negotiations are still ongoing over a new contract, the France international has made up his mind that he wants to stay at the Emirates, the Football.London journalist Kaya Kaynak told GiveMeSport.
William Saliba confirms he will stay
As per the renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have set their priorities pretty straightforward in tying down some players to a new contract. At first, the Gunners reached an agreement with their star boy Bukayo Saka. After that, they have made tying the France international down to a fresh contract.
Meanwhile, the transfer guru suggests the 21-year-old youngster is worth £80 million according to the CIES Football Observatory. While he is keen to remain with the league leaders, the agreement hasn’t reached the last stages. The Gunners have activated a 12-month extension clause written into the central defender’s contract shortly before the turn of the calendar year.
It gives them plenty of time to hold talks as his contract was initially due to come to a close this summer. Meanwhile, the respected Italian journalist, Romano recently told GMS that there is a distinct possibility that the youngster will sign the new contract later this month.
Meanwhile, Football.London’s chief Gunners reporter, Kaynak told GiveMeSport, “That one is maybe not as progressed as Bukayo Saka’s contract. Those negotiations are still ongoing. The Gunners have obviously activated the option to extend his contract by a further year, so his contract, as things stand, expires in 2024. Arsenal’s manager has been very clear that he wants to keep the France international William Saliba. Apparently, the young defender has spoken to him and said that he would like to stay.”
Arsenal recently churned out an emphatic 3-2 win over Bournemouth FC at the Emirates. They will travel all the way to Portugal only to lock horns with Sporting FC in the first leg of the Round of 16 of the Europa League.
