Manchester United Transfer News: Alan Hutton has speculated that if Amad Diallo fails to impress Erik ten Hag in preseason for the 2023–24 season, he may be forced to leave Manchester United. The former Rangers defender told Football Insider exclusively that the boss would be prepared to use Amad next season provided he proves himself “worthy” of playing time.
The 20-year-old is making waves in the Championship with Sunderland, where he is on loan this season. He has scored 11 goals in 36 games. The attacker moved to United from Atalanta in 2021, although he didn’t make much of an impact during his loan stint with Rangers in the second part of the 2021-22 season. Amad told FourFourTwo on April 8 that he hasn’t yet displayed his best for United, but that he hopes to do so next season. The kid went on to say that his ultimate goal is to be a starter for the Red Devils football team.
Manchester United Transfer News: What did Alan Hutton say about Amad Diallo?
Hutton has been pleased by the winger’s play this season, although he wishes the winger had been able to perform at Ibrox.
“I am kind of disappointed because when he first came to Rangers that is what we were expecting, that high energy, trickery and ability that he has shown at Sunderland,” he told Football Insider.
“He did not quite manage it, maybe that was the pressure of going to the big club. The good thing for him is having Erik ten Hag. I think he would give somebody the opportunity if he feels that they are worthy of it. If he comes back and has a good pre-season then the opportunity will be there and if not he might have to move on. It is up to him and how much he wants it,” he added. Moreover, the depth of Manchester United’s roster meant that the club could afford to send a number of young players out on loan this season. Championship players like Alvaro Fernandez, Tahith Chong, and Amad are having the time of their lives. The latter is perhaps the largest winner in the loan move.

What’s next for Amad Diallo?
United spent a lot of money to get the winger from Atalanta. He immediately made an impact by scoring a spectacular header against AC Milan in Europe. However, at that point, things were quite calm.
This season, a loan transfer elsewhere has always seemed like the best strategy. Sunderland would end up signing him. With Amad’s success, it seems like a brilliant decision on United’s part. Tony Mowbray deserves praise for his astute and effective use of Amad. Anyway, the guy has now broken his silence on his plans. [ Manchester United Transfer News ]
The promising young player has said that it is his ‘goal’ to play a significant role for the team next season. He also said he ‘loves’ the club despite the fact that he hasn’t performed up to par thus far.
