Rohit Sharma has been a player out of form in recent times. He has not been able to score big runs. And the Mumbai Indians are suffering due to this. However, the MI and Indian skipper has now created controversy, which will make most fans aware about the LBW rule in further detail, a thing that many fans may not know or might have forgotten for sure!!
The Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma is just having a terrible time with the bat. The six time Indian Premier League winner was once again a failure against Royal Challengers Bangalore when he got out LBW on another single digit score. This did not affect his team’s victory as MI chased down 200 with ease in the 17th over courtesy of Surya Kumar Yadav’s masterclass.
What Was The Decision Regarding The LBW Rule That Created Controversy!?
However questions have raised for Rohit’s dismissal where he was 3.7 meters away from the stumps when a Wanindu Hasaranga delivery hit his pads during the 54th match in this Tata IPL.
The MI skipper was way ahead of the stumps and the 3-metre rule was ignored. Former India players Munaf Patel and Mohammed Kaif posted on twitter about the incident.
“Lagta he ab DRS b DRS hona chahye, Unlucky,” Munaf captioned his post while sharing Rohit’s picture from the dismissal, which proved that the batter was too far from the stumps.
Mohammad Kaif questions the decision on Rohit Sharma’s LBW dismissal.

“Hello DRS, yeh thoda jyada nahi ho gaya? How can this be lbw?,” said Kaif raising concern over the controversial dismissal.

Recently we all know that Shubman Gill was given not-out against Australia in the 4th Test match at Ahmedabad as the 3-meter rule came in to the rescue. Why it was not considered in IPL remains a controversy. Many cricketers previously said they are not 100% confident about the DRS system now some fans are also shouting for the same. It maybe a cause of the mistake by the 3rd umpire in this case.
Despite Rohit Sharma’s disappointment, MI chased down 200 in the game. It was their fastest ever 200+ run chase in history. However after the shaky start, MI are on a good track winning 6 games out of 11 and they are looking certain to qualify for the play offs. The 5 time champions will face the defending champions Gujarat Titans tomorrow.

However, it was nothing related to the actual topic, as always. It was just a witty comment on the whole matter, while promoting Cricket in their own country!!
Below is the Tweet-
We cannot afford the technology yet, but our bowlers have asked us to purchase the Wankhede DRS used to give Rohit Sharma out lbw today.
