The Sun claims that Erik ten Hag may approve of the club’s plan to sell Anthony Martial if he agrees with it. The 8-goal superstar’s performance has dipped in recent years due to his ongoing struggles with injuries. Manchester United spent an initial £36 million on Anthony Martial, making him the most expensive teenager at the time. The Red Devils may have offered Monaco a sum close to £58 million in order to secure his services.
He got off to a great start at Old Trafford, scoring a spectacular goal in his first game against Liverpool. Martial concluded the season with 17 goals in all competitions. He has only ever scored more than that once when he had 23 goals in 2019-2020.
Since then, the 27-year-old has scored 16, including eight in this season alone across all competitions. The attacker has been given a lengthy chance by Manchester United. However, the club has now lost patience with him. The team is willing to part ways with its 8-goal hero. However, no one seems interested in buying him.
According to reports, Erik ten Hag shares the club’s assessment of Martial and would approve a transfer if a fair offer were to come in. United have been looking at a number of striker alternatives, including Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic. They had their sights set on Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen at first, but any one of them may be challenging to sign.
Maybe Erik Ten Hag thinks it was the right move for Manchester United to let 8-goal hero Anthony Martial go in the summer
Either way, the club might try to offload a moping eight-goal hero in the summer, with the expectation of receiving fair market value. Aston Villa has reportedly shown interest in signing Anthony Martial. However, Unai Emery may not see him as a priority until top scorer Ollie Watkins leaves.
Already looking forward to the next window, Ten Hag has his sights set on an offensive midfielder and a wide attacker. They were said to be interested in Neymar, with the PSG star apparently eager for a change of scenery.

However, in the next window, Manchester United will prioritise signing a top-tier striker above addressing any other needs. Martial’s long history of injuries has been a big factor in their decline. He may be a sticking point for potential suitors as he looks to leave Old Trafford.
Burnley reportedly wants to acquire Albert Sambi Lokonga in the next transfer season. The newly promoted club is looking to improve their roster for the next season. They have their sights set on the Arsenal midfielder. He would be joining them on loan at Turf Moor.
After making his way through the ranks at RSC Anderlecht, Lokonga signed with the Gunners in the summer of 2021. The 23-year-old had a few chances to make an impact. However, he was never a consistent member of the first squad.
