Arsenal transfer News: The highly regarded Dutch defender Micky van de Ven is being courted by many top clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Barcelona
Arsenal Transfer News: The 21-year-old centre defender for Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg, Micky van de Ven, has reportedly attracted attention from a number of European powerhouses ahead of the summer transfer window. Falk has detailed the whole skill set of the 21-year-old. Many teams from around Europe competing for him. He said that Wolfsburg would be open to hearing further transfer conversations if an offer in the neighbourhood of €30 million was made.
The Netherlands Under-21 international has excelled this season. He has established himself as a vital player for Wolfsburg, appearing in 28 games for the club. Micky is widely considered one of the finest central defence prospects on the European circuit. He has also played for his country at the Under-21 level, making six appearances.
Arsenal Transfer News: What’s the matter?
In addition to a raise in salary, Van de Ven was recently rewarded with a new contract at the Volkswagen Arena earlier this month. It extends his tenure at the Bundesliga club until 2027. Arsenal, Liverpool, and Barcelona are unfazed by this fact.
One team that wants to sign the excellent central defender is Barcelona. Xavi Hernandez’s team may struggle to afford the €30 million transfer fee necessary to secure his signing. But, teams like Arsenal and Liverpool may not mind paying van de Ven’s salary or matching his worth.

What’s next for Micky van de Ven
It’s easy to understand why Arsenal would be interested in adding van de Ven to their defensive ranks. Ben White has largely played as a right-back this season. They haven’t yet locked down William Saliba to a new deal.
Van de Ven is the most recent young central defender to be linked with a summer transfer to Liverpool. According to Football Insider, the Reds have prepared for life without experienced defender Joel Matip. They have placed him on the transfer list.
Liverpool may have trouble luring the Dutchman to Merseyside without Champions League action if supporters are hoping for an all-Dutch duo of Van Dijk and van de Ven.
During the first international break of the year, Arsenal will be well represented. After defeating Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon for their sixth consecutive Premier League win, Mikel Arteta’s squad entered the break feeling confident and eight points ahead of Manchester City in the standings, despite having played a game more.
Given Arsenal’s league form since their loss to City last month, the break could hardly have come at a worse time. But, on the bright side, everyone gets a little break before coming back together for the season’s last 10 games.
