Chelsea is prepared to swoop in and steal Youssouf Moukoko, a forward for Borussia Dortmund, in the summer of 2023
Reports from Fichajes indicate that Chelsea has moved quickly in the past few hours to prepare a sizable bid for Youssoufa Moukoko of Borussia Dortmund. The next summer, the 18-year-old’s current contract will expire, making him a free agent.
With the transfer market still open, Chelsea has already revealed their first signing, Benoit Badiashile. He will be staying at Stamford Bridge for the next seven and a half years. Moukoko has been a part of the Dortmund youth system since 2016.
About the Report:
Barcelona’s present financial situation has compelled them to utilize the free market more generously. Hence the club has been attributed with an interest in the player. While the club was reportedly in the driver’s seat during negotiations to acquire the kid, Chelsea has stepped in to halt the process.
Financially, the Blues are in a stronger position to outbid Barcelona for the player. The club’s new sports director, Christopher Vivelli, is passionate about signing the player. Dortmund has already made him a new contract offer for about €5 million per season. But Chelsea is prepared to give him a far larger sum. To sweeten the pot, the club is offering the player’s agent a substantial incentive if the player signs with the team in the summer of 2023.
Will Chelsea get Youssoufa Moukoko or will Barcelona get him?
The team has no plans to complete the player’s signing in January. They are not optimistic about their chances of completing the transaction. Moukoko is the youngest player to ever score in the Der Klassiker, and his promising season continues. Graham Potter has already been given a financial boost by co-owner Todd Boehly, who also funded the summer window.
Benoit Badiashile, a defender for Monaco, has officially joined Chelsea in a £35 million transfer that includes a seven-and-a-half-year contract. The 21-year-old French international officially joined the Blues on Thursday, after a move that was first revealed by Sky Sports News in late December.
Because of their need for a left-footed central defender, Chelsea has been on the lookout for Badiashile since the summer. After completing his physical on Monday, Badiashile became Chelsea’s second acquisition of the January transfer window, after David Datro Fofana’s move from Molde. Andrey Santos, a midfielder for Vasco do Gama, was evaluated by the Blues on Saturday. He is just 18 years old.
Ever since Todd Boehly took over as Chelsea owner in May 2022, the club has made it a priority to bring in promising young players. New members are Wesley Fofana (21), Carney Chukwuemeka (19), Cesare Casadei (19), Fofana (20), and Gabriel Slonina (18).
