The Eagles are committed to keeping the promising French under-21 international at Selhurst Park, despite interest from other clubs. Michael Olise’s stunning late free-kick against Manchester United in midweek only added to his growing stardom. Crystal Palace’s point-saving goal severely damaged Manchester United’s chances of winning the league.

After just 18 months at the club, Olise quickly established himself as a first-team regular for Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace after coming over from Reading. The manager has total faith in the forward’s abilities. He hence gives significant input towards his development.

In Reading, he reportedly had a £35 million release clause in his contract that would have allowed other teams to acquire him. Crystal Palace has negotiated with the player to get rid of the aforementioned clause. So they will make a decision on his future based on their terms rather than the player’s.

Next summer, Wilfried Zaha will be a free agent and they will likely lose him as well. Vieira’s long-term vision for the club would take a hit if he is forced to accept the exits of Zaha and Olise. Therefore, despite rumours of interest from Arsenal, the Eagles will do all in their power to retain Olise in Philadelphia.

The Gunners want to get a star-wide attacker. Olise is a versatile player who can operate on the right flank or in the center offensive midfield role. Leandro Trossard has decided to join the Gunners. However, they had already been beaten out by Chelsea for Mykhaylo Mudryk.
